ok, good retort mate, just shake your head without making any points, thats progress  :D

I dont think anyone has backed up the claim that he is not good enough fo the PL with any evidence to convince me theyre right.
Why do you make the statement?

um, because we got him the feck out of Liverpool, and he seemed always injured. I'm not saying hes bad. He reminds me a bit of Bruno Cheyrou, but hes not worth the risk if we get a big money offer on the table. We aint cheatski or Citeh, we need to be careful about our money

2 goals and 7 assists in 28 appearances would seem to contradict your evidence...

2 goals in 27, damn, you sold me, on that basis we should just keep Maxi judging by his last 27?

add what, where would he play? As it is we're almost struggling to fit Stevie G back in the team. Would wanna know his wages and stuff like that first

Well if I'm being honest i reckon when fully fit he was one of our better players last year . Gerrard will not be bombing forward in future ,i reckon we will see him sitting further and further back the older he gets . I reckon aquilani is better than meireles creatively speaking of course and the more creative players we have in the squad the better . They can't all be deep lying midfielders.

I agree Igor, but I don't see keeping Aquilani when his heart is not set on staying with Liverpool

Aqua is an attack-minded player, and 2 goals and 7 assists in 27 is not that impressive.  Like Daws said.. if we get a good offer we should take it.  20 was way too much for him.  If we can sell him for around 15 I think we are getting a good deal.

Adam has scored 12 and gotten 8 assists this season... That's much better than what Aqua has, but the difference is that Adam has played on a much weaker team (A relegated team) in a stronger league.  Aqua has played for one of the better teams in a weaker league.  It's much harder for Adam to do what he's done than Aqua, and yet Adam has done so much, much better.

Just out of interest, were Adams appearances starts or coming on as sub?

Adam

App. 35
Goals. 12
Assists. 8

And this is him playing for a side that just got relegated.

Thommo, can you provide evidence that he can succeed over here? From the one year we've witnessed over here there are more questions than answers, and any answers are pretty negative at that. Check out the Aquilani thread around the times he was here and playing and see how many thought he had the potential to be great. It ain't many

Don't say 2 goals and 7 assists because that's neither here nor there

Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Reckon he's a kenny type of player meself . Kenny in the past was very attacking and goals came from all over the shop . Aquilani would provide the the creativity in midfield and provide our attackers be they strikers or wingers with ammo , he would be ideal for kenny infact . Wouldn't it be good to have a choice of attacking midfielders in the squad , be they aquilani , meireles ,adamor gerrard . Wouldn't it be boss to have a strong squad for kenny to pick from . Aquilani or poulson/cole/ maxi no brainer imo.

I believe I am old enough, wise enough and knowledgable enough to see when a player has class.
Aquilani has class and did a decent job here under the circumstances. He didnt pull up any trees but he wasnt sh'ite either. He is braver than Miereles and more skillful than Lucas. Im not saying he will be spectacular but I cant believe that people say he isnt suited to the Prem when the likes of Kuyt, Lucas and Fu*king Maxi have played out of their skin since KK has taken over. I disagree that 7 assists and 2 goals are neither here or there because it adds up to 9 goals for us. That is very important in my eyes and Im really not ar'sed that few thought he had potential. Most of them thought he was a direct replacement for Alonso which wasnt true.
Aquilani might become a great player for LFC and there is no doubt in my mind that with the right coaching he could prove all those doubters wrong
