Lucas could be like Kaka in training, doesnt mean anything if he's :censored: in the match.

Give me on possible reason why the managers dont play him OTHER than injury. Because a fully fit Aquilani is a very good player and he has been fully fit all season despite people jumping to conclusions.

well, the only conclusion i come to is this....Rafa didn't seem to rate Aqualani and only used him against average opposition...now we have a new manager and he doesn't rate him either.

We've bought a dud. In Rafa was still here i bet Aqualani would still be leaving.

or, look at it like this. We loan him out until January...he gets fit...hits form again....and we bring him back good as new.

A lot can happen before January, it's not a smart move in any way shape or form imo.  Eventually, it has the possibility of being a good one but it's a bit of a gamble.  Anyone who doesn't see that is just fooling themselves and has TOO much faith on Roy.

well i'm sticking to the fact that Roy doesn't rate him.

and, if we're honest, neither did Rafa.

Yeah he is crocked. But that surely cant be the reason he isnt getting played now? Only about a month ago the medical staff said his condition was 100% fit.

If he is talented then why not play him. Doesnt matter if he is a crock, if he's 100% fit then play him.

to be honest mate, the medical team arn't going to say any different in public.

Bear in mind we've employed a whole new medical team...maybe they've found that his injury isn't 100%...or maybe his body isn't 100%.

There's a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts', but you should NEVER spend big money on injured players. It was maddness we blew 20 million on a player who was still 4 months away from recovering from a career threatening injury.

The very same new medical team said he was 100% recovered. Why would they lie, they could just say nothing if he wasnt fit and we would all be none the wiser.

I agree it was a mistake to spend so much on an injured player though, even though he is very talented, he is always a risk when it comes to injury. But the point is, when he is fit play him because he is a very good player.

That is just disappointing ! If we loan/sell him then we'll need to replace him imo... He gives us options down the middle and as far as im concerned, the Gerrard-Mascherano-Cole trio are yet to prove they have what it takes to provide the right balance to the side at both ends.. So far we've seen the side defend well but create very little, or attack well but at the expense of defensive cover... Aquilani could play the gerrard or Cole role better than Lucas and Poulsen.. Also gives us the chance to convert to a more attacking 4-3-3 if needed without compensating quality..  Bad move unless a replacement is lined up... We need a solid passer in the side and if Gerrard 1)doesnt stay fit and 2)adapt to the role then we're in some serious trouble here...

I honestly think Roy made promises to Stevie/Joe that they would be played nowhere else other than their favoured positions, even if it wasn't what was best for the team.  I think Jova, Aqua, Masch, Cole with Gerrard/Torres up front is our best possible midfield/forward lineup, but Roy had to make these promises to said players to get them to stay/sign here.

depends how long Roy has been looking at getting rid of him. I agree it's disapointing, like everyone i was hoping to see the the real Aquilani in action, but the fact that Rafa only used him against average opposition rang alarm bells long ago.

maybe we can loan him to Real and get our xabi back  :D
