was he really one of the most touted players in Italy? Mind you maybe that is true, Dossena was after all in the Italy squad.  :Oo:

He needs to be slotted into the starting side and given a run of starts, or we might as well sell him if we ain't going to give him a chance. But is that likely with Rafa wanting two tacklers in midfield at the cost of any flair in the middle of the park

Nail on the head there.

Though with Torres coming back, I can't see Steve being put back into the middle where he should be. Rafa will persist with the same formation as last season, only it's just not working. Although it's a catch 22 with Gerrard being our only really natural goal threat without Torres, so having him that far up in games makes some sense. If only Steve could find some form.

I think he will do just that over the coming weeks Rushie , I do however fully expect  the Forum might not be so lively when we are winning , and Radio 5 might have to cease seen as their phone lines will be silent ,Disgruntled from Basingstoke may have to lie low for a while perhaps he can climb into bed with Stan the man from Canning  :D

He would have more of a chance of finding form where he not in a position that only suits him when the players behind him have creativity and the player infront is a master at the lone striker role.
Thats not the case with Lucas, Mascherano and Ngog.
Replace the obvious 2 with Alonso and Torres and watch the difference.

The man cant be expected to just make things happen when he is getting the ball into him in areas with little or no support and he is so isolated.
He should have been moved back at the start of the season or as soon as Torres was out.

Yeah he hasnt been in great form but we are not doing what we should to get the best out of him.

Can't really make up my mind with this lad as I just haven't seen him play enough. I like many am not going to pass judgment on him until next season when I think we will see him settle properly. Coming into a faster more physical league is tough enough but when it's on the back on a long terms spell on the sidelines it only makes it harder.

People are so desperate for sucess and so desperate to have a pop at the manager they will clutch to anything for a reason. Give him a break and put away those knives.

Remember the Alonso debates? Remember Sneijder? I wish we'd have signed him.

Can't see anyone buying him for even 60% of what we paid tbh mate, not even the big Italian clubs. Then again if we get rid of quick then i guess we dont pay those add ons which did make up a lot of that 20mil right? Can someone break it down for me?
