He will never be world champion!
Never anywhere near good enough to be,also he's one of the worst defensive boxers I have seen.He does'nt seem to know what a guard is.Sadly I feel he has modelled himself on Naseem with his relaxed ways in the ring. The thing is though the prince could take a punch,he cant!

Totally over rated and over hyped!Just because he's one of the best coming out of England it does not mean he's great or good enough to win a world title. That was embarrassing the other night to be honest!Lots of better fighters out there as well!

OOH i knew youd just have to get your twopeneth worth in i dont care what happened on Sat night the lad will be world champion one day.
id bet me morgage on it otherwise if hes not ill streak around Anfield an thats a sight you wouldnt wanna see
 believe me.

Class, and only beaten cause of a dodgy leg injury and the heat!
That silly wee runt you like has a million miles to go to be anywhere near that good.Sadly nan i feel Kahn has sucked in the whole media hype thing and thought he was better than he is!
Got a reality check the other night, you can't deny that.I cant see him coming back from that TBH so early in his career!
I'd like to be wrong!

Nanny is right he probably will end up a world champion. There are that many belts even boxers that arent that great get to that level.
Bruno did it as have loads of others.
Obviously if he fights anyone of the top boxers at his weight he would be vulnerable with his chin, but going forwards there is no denying that Khan would hurt most.
I agree that he isnt anywhere near as good as a) the press have hyped him and b) he thinks/thought himself.
But he will get another chance against someone less dangerous and still get a title somewhere along the road.

Given scares by the likes of Limond and Gomez, and Warren puts him up against a guy with a 90% knockout rate

£15 for 54 seconds   :D

Warren has said himself that he takes the blame Khan losing. I agree that he will be world champion one day, many a fighter has suffered a knockout and gone on to win a world title, its his deffence that he needs to work on, its not the first time he has been caught and ended up on the floor and he has recovered and gone on to win but IMO that punch would have finished most boxers, and because he got caught so soon no one got to see how he will adapt to his new trainers instructions ( although it would appear he obviously didn't listen at all in the first few seconds:D ). I remember him saying before the fight that he expected the Columbian to charge at him from the first bell and when he did that he was going to be cautious and box his way out of trouble ! so I have no idea what happened. There has been talk that the crowd affected him and he wanted to put on a show and end it quickly, as far as I am concerned that is a feeble excuse, he knew what was coming and he should have stuck to his original plan. But now he needs to work on his deffence and do what he is told and IMO he will be a world champion

Destro, you need to work.............on your spelling of the word defence  :;):

Only messing about with ye mate  :)

What LFC2007 was saying is spot on the part that really puzzles me about Warren, he is usually the most careful and over protective promoter - often to the detriment of his fighters careers in many peoples opinions, so what he done with Khan seems so reckless in what was his first pay per view fight.
Cant get my head round it at all tbh.

I'm made up though, wiped the smug grin of Warrens face and made him look a right fool.
Khan needed to be brought down a peg or two as well.

The thing is, after his last fight he had a new trainer work with him who promised to get him stronger and make him more defensively aware. That was the specific aim of his training camp. What does that say about his ability to ever be able to improve enough? Is he just fundamentally flawed? It was a left hook that floored him against Gomez, and against Prescott it was the same.

I think Warren was just overconfident in Khan's ability. I think he thought Khan had worked on his defence sufficiently and took a gamble because he wanted an explosive fight to get the ball rolling for a title fight further down the line, instead of going for a known quantity, and the safer more progressive option. A gamble too far, way too far unfortunately.

As far as im aware Kahn was supposed to be fighting someone else but it fell through an it was the new trainer from Cuba who reccomended this fight , He said it would be a perfect fight for Khan and Warren took his advice,

Ive hated Frank Warren ever since the Terry March thingy

Marsh had more than 200 fights, both amateur and professional, and never knocked anyone out.

Hey mates, I only read this thread from time to time and it's big enough to browse it, so I'll ask.

Yesterday I was taking a coffee and in the bar there was a muted tv with a combat in eurosports. The lad had red shorts, and you could read "Scouse" in the back. And he had a liverbird in the front part of the shorts. Name of the boxer anyone?

Anyone see the Hopkins vPavlik fight Hopkins destroyed him and ill tell you what if Hokins would of fought like that against Calzaghe he would of beat him. i think there should be a rematch i know both calzaghe and Jones have beat Hopkins but i dopnt care hes still looking good . it was like watching a master at work.

Depending on the outcome of Calzaghe v Jones , Hopkins should be given another shot
