Religion is superstition which is used to group people together as a tribe and fight other tribes.

The catholic church is basically a paedophile ring, I don't blame it for have a few paedo priests but the higher authorities covered it up. Even the police in Ireland when they found out about paedophile priests told the bishop and left it at that - shows the danger of respecting any church. :angry:

Like John Lennon, I'd love a world with no religion but when people are afraid of something, they need something to believe in so they made up god/gods.

I see religion as generally speaking a set of good social codes corrupted by the religous hierachy for the purpose of controlling the people.

A bit like communism but without the Gulags.

Why does religion teach that people of other religions will go to hell (christianity) - read the bible , its in there.

Jews believe that god loves them more than non jews (chosen people etc)

The Koran has loads of values which separate the treatment of Muslims versus non muslims.

The whole purpose of religion is to form a tribe that is somehow superior to other tribes.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.

If you read the actual "holy books" they all claim that their followers are superior or loved more by god than others. Versus in the bible will tell you that Ghandi isn't in heaven as he didn't believe in Jesus.

Catholics are supposed to believe that if a baby dies before it is baptised then it won't go to heaven.

I realise many followers of religion don't really have the same bigotry that their holy books do, but the holy books do create hate of people that aren't from that tribe.
