6bn people on the Isle of man?

Are you confusing the statistic with fitting the whole population of the Isle of man on the Isle of man?

You can imagine all the animals on the ark after a few hours getting hungry, the chickens looking at the wolf edging towards them in a casual way, all the animals uncomfortable after an elephant fart. The Dog chasing the cat as it chases the mouse (each and every specie of mouse obviously being chased by each breed of cat being chased by each type of dog).

Pity there was no cctv back then to evidence this historical fact.

I thought it had since been shown that the Greeks were the first mate in 500BC ? I know the Romans added pumice to the mix so that it would set under water. (I saw that on What the Romans did for us  :D )

Personally im not a big fan of religion.. i respect all religions and that fact that many folk are religious and all that but i dont buy into most of the stuff that comes with... To me it all started with philosophers trying to get people to become more civilized by setting certain social standards to what ought to be considered right and wrong... started before the greek but the greek added so much to it.. With time it became word of 'god' and people starting losing sight of what the real message was ; i.e becoming better people... Got to a stage late on with the romans were it became a little too political and then we never looked back... Its mostly the misinterpretation of religion that brings about problems...

When it comes to science and religion.. 2 seperate issues to me... you can believe in both with no major issues unless you try to integrate the 2 somehow... Science always trumps religion and its all just a big mess from there...

I don't think you can consider youself a serious scientist if you believe in God, it flies in the face of what it means to be a scientist and the scientific method

Well as far as i know ancient philosophers had their own spin on what constituted "god"... They didnt believe in the way people interpreted "god" and had their own take on things, usually relating god to different levels of consciousness and making him out to be more a concept than an actual thing .. Many were killed for different reasons, mostly because they tried to defy the status quo of the time, which had as much to do with trade, money, social laws..etc as it did their belief in god...

Most of the things promoted in religions and found in holy books were actually things that mainly greek philosophers amongst others had mentioned in earlier times.. Many of the important figures who promoted Christianity at early stages were heavily influenced by greek philosophers and often linked the two..
etc etc etc

When it comes to science and believing in god.. again i dont think it has to be a case of either/ or... God is more a concept than anything... Even if there was/is no god, people would would eventually come up with the concept to try and understand things better/ have something to believe in/ blind hope/ source of strength.. etc etc...

religion and Science.. i might agree with... but god and science... ehhhh funny one...

Reading this I see a certain irony in the fact that the Big Bang theory is a Christian scientific theory.

The fact is most Christians see the Bible as a series of metaphors that are entirely compatible with modern science.
