Paper Towns is a good film.

Watched "Beasts of No Nation" last night.

The story of a child soldier who was "conscripted" in a rebel army in an african country during a civil war. Brutal, Violent and Disturbing but definitely worth watching.

Slightly unusual film starring Kurt Russell, Bone Tomahawk described as a "Cowboy Horror" movie.

Not great but held my attention through to the end.

I watched a film with the little one the other day.

Bascially a man's wife is brutally murdered by a serial killer, which also leaves his son physically disabled, then in a twisted turn of fate, his son gets kidnapped and he has to chase the kidnapper 1000's of kilometres with the help of a mentally disabled woman

Caught a couple of crackers these last few days.

Leonardo Di Caprio in "The Revenant", at times it was a bit like "Leo meets Bear Grylls", (including taking shelter in a still warm animals corpse) ! Deffo not the best film you'll ever see but certainly great entertainment !

Samuel L Jackson and Kurt Russel in "The Hateful Eight" Another "wordy" and entertaining movie from Tarantino, despite all the chat and a touch of the "who dunnit ? " you just know it'll end up bloody, and it does !

Not in the same league as the two movies above but found this quirky little flic "He Never Died" a good laugh, well worth the watch.

Watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Will not spoil but absolutely superb 8.5-9/10.

Watched the Revenant yesterday ,considering it was a true story it suffers greatly from the obligatory Hollywood overkill. However I thought 'Mr Glass' done well to outlive the fragility of his name ,and the scene were he's left for dead and tossed about like a rag doll by the Grizzly was graphic to say the least.
Other than that ,too many parts of the film such as the drop he survived were absolute bollocks.

Yes after all the build up hype for this movie plus bitter memories of those god awful prequels still in the back of mind.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Force Awakens, much better then what I was expecting

Red, the "drop" scene raised an eyebrow BUT he did plunge into a massive fir tree which could well have broken the fall as he continued down, no doubt going "Ow Ow Ow ! " as he hit every branch on the way

Anyway mate stranger things have happened, see the story of Peruvian schoolgirl Julianne Koepcke .

The Big Short

The true story of how a couple of guys predicting the housing/credit collapse in the USA bet against the banks and make an absolute fortune.

Interesting enough but not sure it deserves all the plaudits being thrown at it. A tad over-hyped imo, however those into "finance" will certainly enjoy it .

Must admit until I watched this movie I never grasped the scale of irresponsibility shown by the Banks in the USA and it's mind blowing, e.g. "Ninja" Loans , offering loans/mortgages to people with No Income No Job or Assets !
