Dunno about that mate, Boardwalk Empire has Game of Thrones beat for me.

I really liked Boardwalk empire, but it isnt as gripping as game of thrones, after each episode ends i literally cant wait to see the next one, the last time i was gripped by a show like that was the first time i wathced The Wire, which IMO is the greatest television series ive ever watched, if anything tops that id be very suprised.

If The Wire is the greatest thing you've ever watched then (to echo ER) I suggest you tune into "Breaking Bad". The Wire imo was very very good, Breaking Bad is absolutely brilliant.

West Wing is the best thing ever
The Wire second possibly depending on mood
Breaking Bad not even top 10

As for Throne thingy, never seen it, not got Sky Atlantic

Wow. I thought you'd taste, Dawson. The writing in Breaking Bad absolutely stomps everything else on that list, and it's original.

Absolutely hooked on Game of Thrones from opening prologue in the snow. With exception of Walking Dead(roll on second series of that ) cant remember the last time I so hooked on show and couldnt wait for next episode. Only got to see first four episodes as Ive been travelling US/Europe for last six weeks so decided to put the books on iphone and read them during the hols.

All I can say after getting to end of third book if HBO doesnt deadwood this series (its already got greenlight for cast to return to Ireland to film second series) it going to be one hell of story with a lot of ball breaking moments

As for the Wire, top show but for me let down by trying to expand into other areas such as education, politics and in final disappointing series journalism.
The Mcnaulty serial killer storyline didnt help the cause for me either

It's that good, yes. It starts off very slow, albeit the opening prologue that grabs your attention with the White Walker creatures has some of the best production I've ever seen in a TV show. Once you get affiliated with all the characters and their respective story arcs, it just takes on a life of its own and you can't stop watching. The potential is there to be the best thing ever made for TV. It's been described as " The Sopranos in Middle Earth", but so far, especially in episode 9, it's shown more excitement, surprises and balls than the Sopranos has so far, and I'm currently up to watching the 4th season of that.

Production for season two is scheduled to begin on July 25th.

Doubt if it will hit our screens before March/April next year  :(
