A true legend and a true knight of the realm.

Him and Ferguson are both brilliant managers in their own right, but in terms of their characters and the way they conducted themselves, they're miles apart. Nobody will ever have a bad word to say about Sir Bobby.

RIP

very sad news, the man was a gent and he loved football. He was going to games last season and how sad it must have been for him to watch Newcastle get relegated.  :(

But he was honoured before his death, with many great awards which made him really happy. Didn't he present the FA cup last year to the winners also?  Or was it the charity shield?  I forget.

Sad day for English football.

:(

Not just English football, mate. World football.

Just one of the most likeable characters there ever was in any sport. How could you not like the fella? Always a great attitude he had and I dare say to a lot of his former players he'd have been almost like a father figure to them such was his charming nature.

R.I.P Bobby!

Yeh,

Your spot on.

RIP Sir Bob, you will never be forgotten.

I watched a short tribute to him on the telly half hour ago and it had me choked. Such a humble man who loved the game right into his old age, more than anyone else I've ever seen or heard about. He really was one of a kind and to see him stricken with illness these last few years has been heartrending, but he always kept the smile, he never lost the smile. Right up until his last public appearance he had that gracious glint in his eye, such was the character of the man.

I sincerely hope people are able to learn from him and not just in a footballing sense.

A sad loss to football. The guy showed more enthusiasm for the game than many of the so called modern "superstars". If only he had more influence on how people should conduct themself in the footballing world, then this loss wouldnt be as sad. We have lost the last of the old school "gents".

Rest in Peace.
