just thought everyone know if havent seen yet rooney is out 4 6more weeks if you was sven what would you do?

Maybe it's a sneaky way to take the pressure off, which would especially suit ManUre. I'm suspicious myself.

The talk has been about using Crouch or Carrick in his place. Personally, I'd prefer Carrick because I don't like Gerard and Lampard side-by-side in the middle, and Sven isn't going to move Lampard anywhere. This would probably leave...

I think he should leave him at home and look at taking Defoe or Bent (even though he's not in the squad). There's no point taking someone who's unlikely to be fit for the majority of the World Cup. Last time they took Beckham who had recovered from a similar injury and he was no-where near as good as he should have been.

I think it's time to push Gerrard forward and move Carrick into the holding role. Either that or it's Owen and Crouchinho up front!!

It's a shame but that's life- it's a bit unfair to right off the rest of the squads ability.

Just heard on Radio 1 that he's actually having another scan in two weeks!! Clutching at straws i reckon!!

I'd definitely go with that team as the attacking option!

Yes, the thread was in the wrong place, but to play Devil's advocate...it may affect both Gerrard and Crouch. I don't agree that England have got no chance of winning the World Cup without Rooney, and are virtually favourites with him. However, it's a subject of interest to football fans, Liverpool fans included. No-ones forcing anyone else to post in it, and it's more relevant to LFC than any thread in General Discussion.
