Do Italy have the first team, the B team, under 40 and under 30's ?

:D

And yet the italian under 40's consistently does better in world cups than the english first team :)

Italy always grind their way through the group stage. For me not enough of their squad has been replaced with younger players since the last world cup so I think the altitude could make it a little too much for them.

So far, yes. Very cagey and not a lot of quality, IMO.

The only quality side I've seen so far is Germany, lets see Brazil, Portugal and Spain now

You may be right but they played a lot better when they replaced one of their younger players with the aging camoranesi.

Anyone think the ball's a bit of a factor?  I know it's standard to moan about the ball every world cup but we have seen at least two abysmal goalkeeper gaffs and countless free kicks that sail high into Row Z (with the kick-taker standing on looking perplexed).  The ball also seems to bounce very high and very sharply off the turf.  If it does have a little extra 'spring' to it, teams might be trying to play a fairly contained game while they come to grips with it (over and above the usual early-stage caginess that comes with every WC).

Watching Germany last night you would think that it's just a normal ball but interestingly the Bundesliga has been using it since last season. An unfair advantage maybe?  :D

To be honest though I don't get why they are trying to re design it every year. What was wrong with using the one from the last wc or the last european cup even? By the time Brazil 2014 comes around they will be playing with a beach ball.  :glare:

Cameroon Argentina Italia 90, that was a cracker.

Yeah, I agree it's been a bit of a snore fest so far.

The only team to have set things alight are ze Germans who were very impressive.

While this is Slovakia's debut, they already have plenty of pedigree, having competed as part of Czechoslovakia until 1990, reaching World Cup finals in 1934 and 1962. And, as most Slovakian fans will tell you, eight of the side that started the 1976 European Championship final win were Slovaks.

Im telling you, we will finish top. Our defence is a bit iffy but lets look at the opposition we have. Paraguay make too many mistakes, Italy are just old and will put together a program with Panarama on OAP abuse after facing us, and New Zealand...well..2 of there players dont even have a club !

BEWARE THE SLOVAKS !

Dutch looked ok too..... but they won't last long IMO.....

Every chance they will self destruct internally like they usually do.
Brazil next.... would be interesting to see how they get on.
