Women’s football

Is it me or is it cr@p?

I know this goes against all that is politically correct but i have real issue with how we are force fed women’s football and it is presented as entertaining and worth watching. I always dismissed it previously but when England played the US team, i thought I’d watch it so I could make a proper assessment and see how it has evolved and frankly I was disappointed with how poor it was. The players were organized yes, they were fit enough sure but it was so obvious that the speed that the ball travelled, the power, the speed that the players were running was pedestrian, especially after watching Copa America or the African cup.

I then see the US women’s team dancing and celebrating today live on CNN like they conquered the world and suggesting that they should get paid the same as the US men’s team as they are world champions and the men’s team only reached the last 16  . I would love to see the US men’s team play the women’s team in a competitive match where they give it their all (not play them like they are playing their little sister, i mean crunching tackles and all) and i would bet you it would be a complete annihilation, I’d be surprised if the women’s team would even score one goal.

It’s not that i am anti women playing sports as i think it is great, i just don’t want to be force fed it on sky news/sports or CNN. If my daughter was playing i would certainly watch and support her but that would be because I would be personally invested, not because it is good football. Bottom line it is “soft programming” and someone upstairs in corporate media decided they want this and they will push their narrative.

I was watching an old James Bond (cant remember which) and Sean Connery didn’t like the pretty woman’s reaction to him and gave her a slap across the face and she quickly improved her attitude (as you do) I was shocked, zoom forward a few decades and he is now taking orders from women and being rescued by them (soft programming). Women in movies are constantly beating men up nowadays, like it is normal. This is designed so that if you watch it enough it becomes the reality, which is a false narrative (and dangerous for women), women and men cannot compete physically when both are equally trained. No doubt a well trained fit woman could compete with and even easily beat an unfit man, put them on equal footing however and it would be one sided.

Not really a rant as at the end of the day as I can choose to not watch, its just I don’t have time for sub-standard and I don’t want it to be presented as anything but. We have reached the point that just saying what I’m saying will show me as sexist or an old thinking dinosaur but its clear..... Women’s football is cr@p  :D no matter how they spin it.

Get in with the modern standards, if you don't like to be force fed "political correctness" then you're either a misogynist, homophobe or a racist. It's not just with women these days, it's the same with gays and people with any other colour than white. I have nothing against these people whatsoever, but forcing their "equal representation", or whatever they call it, in every form of media is making me sick.

So getting with the times means watching average football and by not wanting to watch that cr@p I’m either misogynistic, a homophobe or a racist. Maybe I just like a higher standard  :;):

Being force fed women's football is a bit of an overstatement Kazza. It was a Major sporting event so got its fair share of news coverage and air time if you ask me.

They are women Mate  :D They don't compete in the same sports as men for exactly the reasons you pointed out but against their own some of the games are quite entertaining and competitive.

I then see the US women’s team dancing and celebrating today live on CNN like they conquered the world and suggesting that they should get paid the same as the US men’s team as they are world champions and the men’s team only reached the last 16  . If you were to ask me should they be getting paid the same as men at club level then I would say don't be so ridiculous  :D But seeing as they were both representing their country internationally then I believe they are entitled to at the very least an equal bonus to the men.

The rest of that is sadistic  .

I am absolutely pissing myself with the laughter here Kazza.

Don't really get your beef. I don't watch it but women's football in England is probably the fastest growing sport in terms of participation and fans so, yeah, you’ll see more of it on the telly and in the papers, but why would that bother you?

More and more young girls are playing the game and the FA are doing more and more to professionalise the game so standards rise, it can be commercialised, and women can make a decent living from it and dedicate themselves to it rather than do it part time. A few moaners asking for unwarranted equal pay shouldn’t get your back up.

Men’s football is clearly a much higher standard and always will be but I’m all for the continued development of the women’s game. Good luck to them.
