So far it is looking like Joe Allen might be BR's only really expensive mistake. Sakho is beginning to show some quality and time will tell if he can really be that good against the top teams. Some of the under £10m players have yet to prove themselves and I accept that it may never happen. On the other hand Coutinho and Sturridge cost £20m which looks like the best £20m we have spent in a very long time. BR's project to date has cost £56m nett. We are certainly in a better position than when he arrived. Our position at the end of the season will indicate just how successful he has been.

And they didn't because I believe the Bale deal took longer than expected and the Suarez situation with us was messy. It will happen - it's inevitable in my opinion. Suarez hasn't suddenly changed his mind and that's why he stayed - we made him stay and come summer the saga will start again. It may even appear in the winter. Suarez will still want to leave.

I think it is a complete waste of time trying to predict just what will and won't happen with Luis Suarez. The likes of Carra and several other pundits claimed we would have a Torres sulk situation on our hands if we didn't sell Suarez in the last transfer window. Some Liverpool supporters were also of a similar impression. So far since his return he has looked as determined and as enthusiastic as ever. His body language with his team mates is also very good. We don't know the full story and probably never will. It is up to Aryes, who did an excellent job to ensure that we kept Luis, to make sure that we continue to make it as difficult as possible for Luis to want to leave and that does not include forcing him to stay.

What exactly did Ayres do to stop him going ?

The club just refused the only offer we got for him. They didn't persuade him to stay or turn down offers and unless I have missed it so far Suarez hasn't gone back on his statement of wanting to leave to play in the CL. The only thing that will stop him wanting to leave is for us to make the CL - and that maybe won't be enough for him as he could possibly be looking to challenge for major honours and play at the biggest clubs in the world.

Make no bones about it - if Suarez was given the chance to leave he would have gone in a flash. And I think most realise that hence whilst he will be supported when he is playing - he won't be regarded as highly as he previously was. Will take a lot for that to happen IMO.

I think Gerrard had a big hand in him deciding to stay, according to Suarez himself.

So, the club did do something.

After all, once you pretty much realised you were wrong about Suarez being off in the summer, you then quickly pontificated that Suarez would go on strike. Again, you were wrong.  So again, the club did do something and did it right, whether you care to admit it or not.

Well I actually said that Suarez has a history of going on strike so it wouldn't surprise me if he did again - as oppose to stating that he would go ok strike

It's the same as when I said his initial reasons for leaving about the media was all *****.

Suarez has shown all summer ( and all career ) to talk *****.

I would not expect you to give Ayres or the owners credit for anything as that simply does not fit your agenda.Liverpool FC were contacted by RM two weeks before the transfer window closed and they were told categorically that it would be a pointless exercise placing a bid because Suarez is not for sale. Most reasonable supporters would admire both Ayres and the owners for taking that very ballsy stance.

How do you know he would have gone in a flash? Did Suarez personally tell you that? Did Suarez ever hand in a transfer request when Arsenal placed their bid? Did he really do everything possible to force Liverpool FC to sell him? Did he take the club to court to contest the terms of his contract? I'm interested in the real facts and not a load of unsubstantiated garbage that was printed repeatedly by our gutter press who had nothing better to do during the summer.   

You are quite right that Luis won't be as highly regarded by some supporters but fortunately they will be a relatively small minority of individuals that have never made a mistake in their lives.

You can continue to slate me for my opinion if it makes you feel better but I'm entitled to have an opinion about a player that I feel should disrespect to both the club and the fans and that's something I won't forget. He for me now is just another Liverpool player - I fully expect him to leave because his priority isn't with the club, he made more than a "mistake" because he has continued to make "mistakes" that continually get excused - ran out of excuses now.

You can feel differently if you so wish - that's you prerogative - but don't slate me because I ( and I can guarantee others also ) feel a great deal differently.

And don't even suggest those people can't cheer when Suarez scores. - they will be cheering the fact the team has scored a goal as opposed to Suarez - I hope you understand that.

I would actually prefer you to answer the following questions instead of behaving like a pathetic little victim. You constantly castigate Suarez so support your typically brash statement with some facts:

The reason why Arsenal bid that extra "pound" is because they also believed that ( because Suarez's agent told them IMO ) . He was warned that he wouldn't win any contract dispute and he wouldn't win any court action.

In the end Suarez was left waiting for a bid that we would accept to arrive - it didn't and he stayed.

Spit and bile is more your area of expertise. If you need confirmation just read your own posts about our owners, our manager and of course your summer long castigation of Luis Suarez.

So he didn't hand in a transfer request. He didn't take the club to court. He didn't actually win the court case when he previously took his club to court but it was enough for them to sell him. So he didn't do everything possible to force his way out of the club. Delighted we managed to sort that out.

I didn't state that he tried everything possible to leave did I ?

I just gave an opinion that if he was given the chance to leave he would have done in a flash. And I used him asking for the Arsenal bid to be accepted including bringing in lawyers to check the contract and stating he wanted to leave as a reason why I formed that opinion - unless of course you think they didn't happen ?

As for the "bile and spit" - I'm talking about when you respond to posters. It's clear that every time you respond to something I post in regards an opinion on a subject you see it as some heinous crime that I must be chastised for ! I'm responding to you in a civil way and just ask that you respect my right to have an opinion ( regardless of what you think of it ) and respond to any posts I make in the same civil way I am currently doing. That way the board can remain a little bit better and we won't have posts full of insults flying about ( which add nothing ) . I'm pretty sure we can both act like responsible mature adults. I'm respecting your opinion - please do the same in return.
