TBH, I'd more or less forgotten the ACN and consequently haven't seen any of the games,  HOWEVER I see Algeria are paired with Egypt in one of the semi's, given the mini war that erupted between them during the qualifiers this should be a cracker. Deffo one watch Thursday (Sky) .

I haven't seen any of it Woof, most likely cos I'm back at Uni now and haven't got easy access to watch it. It's probably a good competition FWIW but there's none of our players there which makes it difficult to develop an interest in it

If only Lucas was African  :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Watched the end of the Egypt Cameroon match the other night.
It went to extra time and egypt were 2-1 up, they get a free kick that Kameni punches onto the post, the ball rolls back accross the line and the ref who was about 40 yards further back gave a goal.
Wasnt even close  :D

Reading about CAF disqualifying Togo from the next two African Nations Cups following their withdrawal for the machine gun attack.

I cannot believe a governing body would be so stupid and insensitive as to do this. Cannot see FIFA or Blatter doing anything either, he would probably make some sort of joke about the whole incident, AKA Ireland/France

Adding insult to injury and deaths, poor timing, complete lack of sense and worse still no intervention from FIFA. I can't believe they've banned them, and for what, people getting killed due to a severely inadequate security set-up in the venue of CAF's choice?!?!?!?

And re the final, didn't watch all of it as it was hard work. Glad I didn't watch the manc game either, but at least the right team won. As someone on another forum pointed out, how is it Egypt can win so many ACNs and yet haven't qualified for the World Cup since 1990?

Some teams would have been proud of the counter attacking display by Egypt ,totally dominated by Ghana and then one solitary moment of absolute class (Saying that though Egypt should have had a definite penalty ) :D
