You actually think that David Beckham deserves to be on the squad? Are you serious? The reason England were knocked out of Euro was because of David Beckham. Eriksson is a Beckham fan so he doesn't have the balls to bench him.

It will take a couple of years before Rooney becomes World Class, right now he's just another young talented player.

Personally id find it hard to leave Beckham out of the england team.Whats the alternatives? All players go through a bad patch. Owen isnt setting the world on fire but id still pick him.
And England got knocked out of Euro 2004 because they simply werent good enough. To blame one player is nonsense in my opinion.

England were good, very good at the Euro. Great talented players who have proven themselves to some degree but if Beckham didn't miss that penalty against France,England wouldn't had lost and if Beckham had scored instead of missing that penalty perhaps England would had been in the finals instead of Portugal.

you cant look at it that way, beckham had the guts to step up and take a penalty in the 1st place!!!

Exactly! Ok he missed a pen against France. I seem to recall a dodgey backpass in that very game also...its pointless carrying this thread on lol.
I still say I wouldnt bench him A.b. Love him/hate him,he is a talented player and still able to score great goals as he showed Wales today. :oh:
