First off.... Hand on heart, this is not a wind-up or another Rafa out thread.

I sincerely want to know what posters opinion are on Rafa's ability to win the premiership title. We've seen how he works and his preferred methods. Based on what we know of the mean and his preferences..... does he have what it takes? with and without the current climate in the club.

Last season was a golden opportunity and we didn't win it, and this season we are absolutely nowhere near it again, so the simple answer is no. Some managers find a way to win things, some managers find a way to not win things. Rafa IMHo will always find a way to not win the Premiership. If you compare our performance this season with that of Man Utd, given the fact they lost Ronaldo and Tevez, replaced them with Owen and valencia and have had a stack of injuries just like us, it is absolutely shocking. They are right up there with Chelsea, we are right up there with Birmingham, shocking.

Incredibly I couldn't even muster a vote for "others", as i couldn't think of any. The answer is a "NO", pure and simple.

Manure utd have 8 defenders injured and Carrick and Evra ended up as CBs while Giggs was on the flanks. it'll be interesting to see how they cope in their next match against Wolfsburg. anyway, Rafa is incapable of winning the league. period.

Rafa makes too many mistakes and seems to have great difficulty in preventing blips becoming bliiiiips. Not unless he gets a couple of hundred million off the owners for new players :D    so I voted no.

He is too stubborn and will not learn from pervious mistakes. No for me I'm afraid
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Admittedly this season has been a disaster and Rafa has to carry much of the responsibility, his failure to respond to a looming problem regarding our strike force (or lack of it) was surprisingly naive, I doubt if anyone expected Torres to go through the entire season unscathed and our options after him were and still are pretty poor.

However Rafa was within a whisker of winning it last season. I'm not as confident as I once was but  I do believe that our shortcoming can be addressed and Rafa does have what it takes to win the prem.

We are on a downwood spiral imo, not seen since houlliers last season.
If we get players back fit we can still make the top four but winning the league under Rafa appears this season as unlikely as ever.

If God managed Liverpool, would he have what it takes to win the league?
