Both Anelka and Morientes are great prospects but I firmly believe that Morientes is the right choice. His style will compliment Baros's and he can boast many succesful partnerships. Anelka is temprimental and seems to fall apart for ages without scoring for no particular reason. Morientes his just as much passion but he isn't a hot head and most importantly he will get the most goals.

Morientes is a better choice, Benitez knows him and the way he plays. Besides, Anelka is temperamental and Morientes seems to really want to move to liverpool.

Well,Anelka is younger and cheaper.Plus,he knows Liverpool in and out.
Morientes is a good striker(otherwise,how could he survive in Real Madrid for so many years?).

If Houllier was still boss,Anelka is a guaranteed choice.

I say take Morientes.By the time he retires,Mellor and/or Pongolle should be mature enough to replace him.

Same case.Benitez buys Spaniards just like Houllier buys French players.

If I had to pick one from those two, then it would be Anelka all day as:

1) He will be eligible for the Champions League this season.

2) He will need no time to settle into the pace/style of the Premeirship, thus ensuring instant results (ie goals).

3) Anelka is five years younger than Morientes, therfore he will either be a great player for many years, or young enough to sell on in four or five years.
