Samuel Etoo returns to be in mouth worldwide. Concentrated with its selection hoping to play a party Sunday, in Liberia, the African returns to take protagonism as future star in the market from summer. Only yesterday, a Catalan transmitter (COM Ràdio) assured that Rafa Benítez wants to him for its new project in Anfield (so and as AS weeks ago informed). It was spoken of the possibility that the English will offer 60 million euros by the African, amount that could diminish if Xabi Alonso entered the operation, by that the cost would be reduced to 40 kilos. Whatsoever, nobody of the surroundings of the player wants to speak of the subject. They prefer to keep silence to see how the events in the next weeks follow one another. Before making any decision, they prefer to know what will happen to Ronaldinho Gaúcho (Henry praised to Thierry and said yesterday that "it would be a great joy that played in Barcelona"), tried by Milan and that seems that it plays the cat and the mouse with its club. Etoo, nevertheless, he walks calm with which happens. Any club with potential would open the doors to him, as it is the case of the Arsenal of Arsène Wenger, that is arranged to change it to it to the Barça by Henry. In addition, the London club is one of the clubs preferred of the African and perhaps to which it would more like to go away. The saying. It is question to hope. Palace could be culé in a month Pedro Pompilio, vice-president of Mouth, recognized in Mitre Radio that the contacts with the Barça by the crossing of the Rodrigo forward Palace very are advanced and confirmed that "we have reached an agreement with the Barça". The only problem is that Mouth only has 32.5% of the rights of the player, since the rest belongs to its clubs of origin, Huraca'n and Banfield and to its agent, Juan Paladino

Not sure about the source.

Bóllocks. It's a lie 3 weeks ago they forwarded the swap. They didn't. In fact, AS, 3 days ago was talking about a possible Henry-Etoo swap.

If they pretend LFC spend 30 M quid + Alonso for Eto'o they're nuts. They're valueing Alonso for 15M when he was bought for 10M quid and last year a 17M offer was rejected as ridiculous?

Not a single quote in the article, just especulation.

I could show you how they put in the past Gerrard's move to madrid as "Almost done", and they place Alonso in Spain every year.

They have to fill the newspaper every day. Plus, in the inner pages, you can see they're echoing the ***. ENough said.

P.S. Yes LFC2007, Kilos is a "slang" term for "Millions"

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is willing to use all of his £35m transfer kitty to land Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o. (The Independent)

I'll bring you now what Diari Sport says about all this. Diari Sport is more reliable, because they do not do as much tabloid journalism as other papers like AS, or El Mundo Deportivo. They avoid bringing news from other tabloids (Spanish or English) and despite being Barcelona biased, they do more serious journalism.

Eto'o has spoken to this diary. For what is worth Eto'o says that "He passes olympically about all the offers" which is the Spanish way to say "He gives a flying fúck" about all offers and he wants to stay in Barcelona. When he says offers, he's talking about all the teams that are supposedly approaching to Barcelona, the same diary said, it's Milan, Bayern, Liverpool, and also Chelsea and Arsenal. Meaning, everybody seems to want Eto'o. Some press talk about the Etoo-Sissoko+money swap, others say it will be a Lampard-Deco swap, Others talk about Henry-Eto'o swap, rumours of all kinds of colours.

That's his words. His facts are in the same line as he just bought a new home in Barcelona where he plans to live froom now on, . It doesnt seem he's planning to move.

Football Club Barcelona, in the mean time, has said they're not going to sell the player, but that they'll talk with the player so that he doesn't have more rants in the press (last week he did another one).

For now, it doesn't seem to be happening anything, but the summer is so long...

If it was a straight swop Alonso for Eto'o it would be a good deal (don't fkn start  :D ) but the amount they want + Alonso seems extortionate.

dont expect anything till the end of the spanish league...
most of our targets play there... etoo, d.silva, d.alves, villa, torres, millito...etc
we'll see what happens after the league os over...tight race and the final league table will determine who leaves and who stays and how much theplayers cost...wait and see...

This is not a rumour, but words of Galliani the man of Milan AC, who has said that once the liga ends, they'll oficially try to sign up Eto'o.

It's obvious all europe knows who players are good. At least now, we're competing with the top clubs signing ups-wise (if what the americans say is true).
