Southampton have always annotated their "not for sale" statements, with the line about how only a "ridiculous offer" would get them to consider selling... Why then, have Liverpool not made this ridiculous offer, if they want him so badly? I can see this souring Van Dijk's desire to want to come to Anfield now. He might be thinking, "I basically went on strike and forefeited money to get a move to you, and you did not even bother/have the balls to table a bid for me. You clearly don't want me as badly as you've made out, so now I don't want you as much as I did before". The January, or next summer's window will most likely see him go elsewhere.
