Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Lallana in Pyjamas » Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:58 pm

Next up Leicester - last game before the International break

Tough game but thankfully Vardy is still out - don’t see many changes maybe Gini or Milner taking a rest with Henderson coming in

My line up would be

Alisson

TAA
Gomez
VVD
Robertson

Henderson
Gini
Keita

Mane
Firmino
Salah

Think it will be the same 11. Starting 11 unchanged for 4 games in a row.

3-1 to us. Normally a difficult trip but without that pest Vardy (as well as no more Mahrez), will be a comfortable win. Agree with pig snatcher, think we'll go with the same team

Yup no Vardy No Mahrez so it shouldn't be too hard.

Vardy's record against us is a joke, he almost always scores so him missing is a big bonus. We're going into this with a back line full of confidence, just need the front 3 to bring their shooting boots and we'll be fine.

Will be delighted if we pick up 3 points by any means.

May see some rotation tomorrow which is never popular but I guess necessary over a long campaign.

Vardy is important to Leicester like Salah is to us, maybe more so. Another difficult game and if we do pick up 3 points it's a wonderful start to the campaign.

Why would we rotate when we've had a week to prepare? Rotation will kick in after the international break when we will be playing every 3 days. Any changes will be tactical but I doubt there will be any.

If there is rotation then hopefully it is only 1 or 2. Don't think any of the lads that have played the first 3 deserve to be dropped. Milner would be the choice if I had to pick one but if Jurgen didn't change anything till after the internationals then that should be good enough. Heading into that break with maximum points should be the target this weekend.

I do think he could be more flexible with his subs. Maybe rather than bringing Hendo on after 60mins he brings on Fabinho instead, Likewise Shaquiri instead of Sturridge. If they haven't been featuring because they aren't ready then a decent cameo from the bench is a good place to start. What I don't want to see tomorrow is a load of changes because someone says we have to rotate. Its only the 4th game of the season and then they head off for 2 weeks. Plenty of time to rest then.

Our away form is pretty good and I expect that to continue against this lot. Being the home side they will have to come out sometime so when they do we have to finish our chances.
I will go for a 3 nil win to us  :buttrock

Agreed.

The only one possible change I can see is Hendo for Milner or Gini. That's it.

No Vardy or Mahrez this time so I can't see anything other than a win for us. Another clean sheet making it four in a row would be great also.

I'm going for a 0-2 to US. :buttrock.

Liverpool make one change for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Jordan Henderson makes his first start of the season, replacing Naby Keita in midfield, in the Reds’ only alteration to the line-up.

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Keita, Sturridge, Moreno, Lallana, Shaqiri, Matip.

Fabinho not even on the bench- bit of a surprise. I think we need a bit more flair to win this and expect Shaqiri to play a role - preferably 20-25mins as a sub

Keita looked a bit leggy in the last game , Leicester are going to compact the middle so you can see why they made the change - We should have enough with the front three and the two guys bombing on from full back. It’s gojng to be a hard game
