Liverpool vs Leicester 27/09 19:45 ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby redshade » Wed Sep 27, 2023 1:29 am

Expecting quite few changes here, Leicester have got few decent players so won't be easy. Our altered side didn't do well against Lask so not fully optimistic if we make alot of changes.
Hoping the lads who are given a shot perform well.
When we won the trophy few years ago, squad players did well. It is upto the lads, who need game time, how far we go into this competition.

Nunez and Diaz should be starting against Spurs so expecting Gakpo, Jota in first xi.

        Kelleher

???  Quansah Matip Tsimkas

    Elliot Grav Endo

    Jota Gakpo Doak

Something along those lines, not sure who at Rb.

Similar setup to the LASK game I'd think but use the CBs and forward players who didn't start against West Ham. Strongest bench possible.

                                 Kelleher

Bajcetic         Konate         Quansah         Tsimikas

                 Elliott         Endo         Gravenberch

                  Doak         Gakpo         Jota

Only Curtis Jones retains his place in the side that beat West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday as the Reds shuffle their pack for the visit of the Foxes - and he wears the captain's armband.

Summer signings Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch are included in the XI by Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool: Kelleher, Jones, Konate, Quansah, Tsimikas, Endo, Gravenberch, Elliott, Doak, Jota, Gakpo.

Pep Ljinders mentioned in his pre match prezza something Diogo Jota said to him re the quadruple season and how staying in all competitions to the end helped keep everyone involved and lifted team spirit.

I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about the league cup, but it's important for fringe players and youngsters in the squad.

I like our line-up, let's hope these lads impress.

0-1 down but all over them. A foul in the lead up for their goal and a penalty for us not given. Can’t see us not scoring.

Should have taken at least one of those million chances we had in the first half. We should win if we keep this up though, even if we're one down. But we must take our chances obviously.

Not watching it only listening to the Liverpool channels commentary but sounds like a frustrating first half. Sounds like it could have been a foul on kostas and we should have had a pen

Good win, should have been a rout with the number of chances we had. Szoboszlai's goal was a cracker.

Next up a trip to London for a difficult away match against an in form Spurs.

:D  another game added to the "comeback" list. We could've walked this one easily had we finished our chances. Sboz goal was a cracker, Gerardesque.
