Totally agree, the doom and gloom merchants on here are doing my head in, ffs the window has only just opened, we have made a couple of astute signings and are being linked all types of players at the moment as we are every window, even more so with the potential Suarez money. Let's see what happens and who we actually sign before you start predicting armegedon.

You'd have to be a happy clapper to not have any concerns, especially considering our recent dealings in the transfer market. Apart from January 2012 when we signed Coutinho and Sturridge every other window has seen us waste tens of millions of pounds on either bench fodder or players we've loaned straight out again (Cissokho, Aspas, Assaidi, Alberto, Moses, Borini, Ilorri, Sahin etc)

St. Mick had something when he said cut down our scored against tally by thirty goals as we will not have trouble scoring. Makes sense as we will never replace Suarez easily so why not spend the 80 million on the best defenders and goalkeeper money can buy ( and I don't mean Lovren for 20 million or even more ridiculous Luiz for 50 million) and make us the most expensive defence in the prem. You can never go wrong when you have the best defence both in the prem and CL. This will be a real test to see how good our manager actually is.

To be honest there isnt many defenders better than Agger out there but he just cant stay fit. Unless we are going to sign Thiago Silva, Vincent Kompany or Gerard Pique

Our right back needs sorting but it wont.

Eh? The link to Lovren came from James Pearce of the Echo, about as solid a source as you can get regarding all things LFC.
The bid was reported in the Southampton Echo as well. Our interest in Lovren isn't a baseless rumour.

When you think about how we baulked at paying £13m for Konoplyanka but are now on the verge of shelling out nearly £50m for Lallana and Lovren it just doesn't make sense.

I will admit I am not that impressed with going for another Southampton player just cos they had a decent season last year, smacks a bit of the everything Swansea when BR first came here, however I do think Lovren is a better defender than MS although 20mill is way too much but as I said I'm not going to get all bitter and twisted about something that hasn't happened yet, the Konoplyanka debacle has made me wait until it's signed as until the very last minutes that transfer was in the bag.

Origi has looked very good, Similar to Lukaku. Understanding that the release clause was important for the deal to go through.
