Contrary to popular belief, not all nations summer windows start at the same time.

Atletico Madrid are preparing to sell Arda Turan to Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea to fund a move for Arsenal's Santi Cazorla.

The Spanish champions remain keen to acquire Cazorla from Arsenal this summer but accept they need to sell before pulling off the move.

Even with Diego Costa's move to Chelsea all-but-complete Atletico will still require further funds if they are to bring in new players this summer.

And reports in Spain suggest that Turan could well be the player shipped out.

Turan has a £33m release clause and even if Atletico have to compromise on that figure a little, they know it will be more than enough to offer the £18m for Cazorla.

Earlier this summer, Turan's agent claimed he had an offer from an English team - thought to be United - before denying that he had had any contact with teams from the Premier League.

In demand Keylor Navas says fearless Costa Rica can go on being World Cup world-beaters after victory against Greece put them in the last eight.

Navas is now the World Cup's most wanted keeper with tiny Spanish club Levante unable to keep hold of their star stopper whose contract runs out in one year and buy-out clause stands at just £6.5million.

In the entire World Cup qualifying campaign he conceded just seven goals - only the United States let in fewer than Costa Rica.

And having conceded just once in the group matches, against Uruguay, he made the save of the tournament against Greece in Recife to keep out Theofanis Gekas's penalty.

Atletico Madrid are interested in Navas replacing Thibaut Courtois, who has gone back to Chelsea after three seasons on loan. But Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton are all monitoring the 27-year-old's situation.

He finished last season as La Liga's second-best goalkeeper based on goals conceded, and the best based on the number of saves made.

It was Courtois who conceded fewest goals, but he had the best defence in Spain in front of him.

At Levante, Navas had no such protection as was clear on the opening day of the season when he let in seven at the Nou Camp.

Swansea City chief Huw Jenkins admits that the club are yet to receive any enquiries for Michu, but are to sit down with the striker this week.

Michu has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium ever since his fantastic debut campaign in England two seasons ago, where he scored 22 goals in all competitions.

Premier League outfits Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on his situation in south Wales, while Napoli are also keen on his services.

Reports in Italy suggested that Michu had already passed a medical at the Serie A side, but Jenkins insists there have been no approaches for the Spain international.

However, he did concede that Swans boss Garry Monk will sit down with Michu to discuss his future at the club."If the reports are right, there seems to be a lot of interest in Michu," Jenkins said.

"From the club's point of view, I can tell you that we have not received any enquiries about Michu.

"The only thing I would say is that I am sure Garry (Monk) will meet with Michu and discuss things with him when he reports back."

The signing of Bafetimbi Gomis could see Swansea cash in on Michu after enduring a persistent ankle problem last season, scoring just twice.

Liverpool are eyeing a move for Benfica defender Maxi Pereira, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.

Pereira, who appeared for Uruguay at the World Cup and was sent off in their 3-1 defeat to Costa Rica, has one year left on his deal at Benfica and is unsure if he will continue at the Lisbon club.

Record claim Liverpool have expressed their interest in the right-back, who made 43 appearances in all competitions last season as Benfica sealed a domestic treble.

Liverpool's interest in the £7.5m-rated 30-year-old comes as something of a surprise as Brendan Rodgers already has three right-backs, Glen Johnson, Jon Flanagan and Martin Kelly, in his first-team squad.

Pereira, who was born in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo, has been at Benfica since joining them from his hometown club Defensor in 2007.

Barcelona have slapped a £32million price-tag on Liverpool-target Alexis Sanchez.

Barcelona are willing to cash in on Sanchez and want £2million more than the £30million they paid Udinese for the Chilean World Cup star in 2011.

Liverpool and Arsenal want Sanchez, while the forward has also been linked with Manchester United, and Barca feel his displays in Brazil, where he scored twice, justify their valuation.

Liverpool are willing to meet this price and would consider taking Sanchez in part exchange for Luis Suarez if the Catalan giants added another £50million in cash.

This would make the deal worth a total of £80million and meet their asking price for the banned Suarez.

However Sanchez looks unlikely to be moving to Anfield and, according to sources in Spain, he wants to stay at the Nou Camp.

It is understood he is not keen on joining Liverpool and would prefer a move to Arsenal if he did leave.

Sanchez, 25, may change his mind if Barcelona's new coach Luis Enrique makes it clear to him that he is not part of his first-team plans for next season.

Arsenal,  Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to launch bids of £10million for playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu after Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen confirmed they have already seen an initial offer rejected by his club Hamburg.

The 20-year-old Turkish international is one of the German league's biggest prospects after enjoying a fine season with HSV, making 32 appearances and scoring 11 times.

Leverkusen have already claimed that Calhanoglu has struck a verbal agreement with them, and CEO Michael Schade believes that Hamburg are in no doubt that the player wants to leave.

Arsenal and Chelsea are keen to add the versatile midfielder to their ranks, with Arsene Wenger believing that the youngster can make an instant impact in the Gunners' title challenge next season.

Jose Mourinho is in the process of rebuilding his squad following the release of veterans including Frank Lampard, and feels that Calhanoglu is the perfect replacement for the Stamford Bridge legend.

Brendan Rodgers made a personal trip to watch Calhanolgu last season, and has been advised by scouts to snap up the Turk after he finalises Adam Lallana's switch from Southampton.

However Leverkusen remain in pole position for his signature, and sporting director Rudi Voeller has revealed that his side are preparing to make a new bid after seeing their first offer turned away by HSV.

He said: "We are interested in Calhanoglu.

"We have already submitted a written offer to Hamburg. It's been refused for now, but will hopefully not be the last word."

Add to that , despite his undoubted skill from what I've seen of him in the world cup he's a player who seems to hang onto the ball for one tackle to many, i.e. often slow to release the ball, wants to do it all himself !

Liverpool step up chase for Guillermo Ochoa as Pepe Reina edges towards Napoli move
LIVERPOOL are stepping up the chase for Mexico's World Cup star and Arsenal target Guillermo Ochoa after Napoli expressed an interest in taking Pepe Reina back to Italy.

The 28-year-old is a free agent after his contract with French side Ajaccio expired, and is being followed by as many as 20 teams after putting in some dazzling performances in Brazil.

Liverpool's current first-choice between the sticks is former Sunderland man Simon Mignolet, and Brendan Rodgers is desperate to provide the Belgium international with competition.

There were suggestions that Reina would be back at Anfield next season after returning from his loan spell with Napoli, with former Kop and Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez refusing to meet his asking price.

However, reports in Italy claim that the Coppa Italia champions would actually like the Spaniard back at the Sao Paolo next season, but are adamant that it would have to be another loan deal.

And with Rodgers willing to sanction the move, the Merseyside club will attempt to prise Ochoa out of the clasps of Arsenal and big-spenders Monaco, but will not have to worry about reported interest from Barcelona, who have signed Real Sociedad's Chilean keeper Claudio Bravo to compete with German youngster Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Stoke unwilling to meet Liverpool's asking price for Oussama Assaidi

Potter chief executive Tony Scholes says the Reds' valuation is "just wrong"

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes has indicated that the club are not willing to meet Liverpool FC's asking price for Oussama Assaidi.

The Moroccan spent last season on loan at the Britannia and scored four goals in 24 Premier League appearances for the Potters.

The 25-year-old joined Liverpool from Dutch side Heerenveen in 2012 but struggled to make an impact in his first season at Anfield and failed to start a Premier League game under Brendan Rodgers.

Liverpool are happy to sell but Scholes says that the two clubs have yet been unable to agree on a deal.

He said: "As the chairman and the manager have already said, he's a player we like.

"He did very well last year and settled in. Everything points to it being a good match for both the club and the player.

"But, at the moment, the prices we are being quoted are just wrong."

I don't really watch football outside of the PL. It seems most of our fans are obsessed with signing Sanchez or preventing him to go to any other club in England. How good is he anyway? I watched a few of his club performances on youtube (I know, I know...) and felt underwhelmed - seems to have quick feet but is never really able to beat his man or create a chance. He was OK in the world cup games, and didn't really seem like a guy who could change games.

he aint no suarez 
decent player by all accounts who can score and assist.  it would make the pain of suarez leaving easier if he was part of the deal but do wonder how he would cope in the prem.
anyway i think arsenal are favorites to get him
