We bought Hendo for 18 and Allen for 24 ,Lallana for 25 is pretty fair.

Lallana had a semi decent season in a mid table club. Before that, what ??
We're being bled by Southampton over this. Let's face it, Rodgers didn't exactly get last season's signings right - Alberto out on loan, same for Ilori, Aspas put down probably. And he now spends THIS amount on a player who is subbed week in week out by his club. Not even a box to box midfielder.
Seething over this waste of money...

Did you watch Southampton play? Did you watch Lallana play? They are the same format BR believes in ,a team which passes the ball and is quickly to attack ,Adam was the engine of that team ,his abilities aren't something limited to a team or to a season ,they were displayed for all to see ,and for what's it worth he looks pretty impressive to me.

Good player but a ten million over payment. Hopefully he will play centrally and not wide

The race is on for Sevilla defender Federico Fazio as Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers faces a fight with a host of clubs.

Rodgers knows he needs to add some steel to his backline in the summer if they are to progress in the Champions League and push for the Premier League title.

The Argentine impressed last term with the Spanish club, playing a key role as they finished fifth in La Liga while also going on to win the Europa League and they would like to keep him, but need to renegotiate his buy-out clause to do that as at £8m it is not deterring anyone.

Fazio's exploits have made a number of clubs sit up and take notice as Manchester United, Everton and Barcelona are all interested in acquiring his services, despite the fact he remains under contract until 2018 with the Andalusian club.

LIVERPOOL have trumped Arsenal and Tottenham after agreeing a fee for Belgium and Lille star Divock Origi as they close in on Southampton captain Adam Lallana.

Le Parisien's Julien Laurens claims that Brendan Rodgers has struck a deal for the youngster, and that he will be immediately loaned back to the French side for the next season.

Origi has been in top form for Belgium in their World Cup campaign, outshining Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku in the process, and will link up with Rodgers in time for the 2015/16 season.

Despite only finding the net five times for Lille in the last campaign, Origi is considered to be one for the future, and has been backed by Belgium boss Marc Wilmots to develop into a world-class striker.

The Anfield side will pay around £6million for his services as he becomes their third signing of the summer, following Southampton's Rickie Lambert and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can.

The trio could soon be joined by Lallana, who is having a medical on Merseyside after the Saints accepted a £25million bid, and Kop fans are sure to be delighted by their side's early transfer activity.

Liverpool FC will launch a £25million swoop for Benfica winger Lazar Markovic after wrapping up a deal for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.

England international Lallana arrived at Melwood to undergo a medical and sort out personal terms on Friday after the clubs agreed a fee of £23million plus add-ons.

The 26-year-old is set to pen a four-year contract and the formalities should be completed over the weekend with an official announcement due on Monday.

Lallana will become Liverpool's third summer signing following the £4million deal for fellow Saints star Rickie Lambert and the £10million purchase of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can.

Brendan Rodgers is eyeing more attacking reinforcements with the manager now set to turn his attentions to highly-rated Serbian youngster Markovic.

The 20-year-old was heavily scouted by Liverpool last season and had been lined up initially as a possible alternative to Lallana if an agreement couldn't be reached with Southampton.

However, despite landing Lallana, the Reds are set to press on and open talks with Benfica.

Liverpool haven't been put off by the £25million price tag and are confident of making another statement of intent ahead of the new campaign.

Markovic, who is understood to be keen on making the switch to Anfield, joined Benfica from Partizan Belgrade last summer and helped them clinch the Portuguese title.

The pursuit of Markovic means that the Reds are unlikely to follow up their interest in Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri, who caught the eye with a hat-trick for Switzerland against Honduras at the World Cup earlier this week.

Liverpool also look set to beat off competition from Tottenham for Lille's teenage Belgium international striker Divock Origi.

However, if the Reds do secure the 19-year-old's services they will loan him back to Lille for the 2014/15 season.

Southampton's Dejan Lovren and Sevilla's Albert Moreno remain the club's top defensive targets but neither of those deals are close to completion.

Talks over Moreno have stalled with the La Liga outfit refusing to budge on their £20million valuation.

Not interested in someone who can only play in 2015/16 season... we need to improve now...
