Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Doesn't look like we will be getting anyone on a permanent deal at this point and we will be screwed for 4th.

Reports we are within £10m of breaking the FFP rule so are begging clubs to accept payment on the drip and I suspect
this is where Salah negotiations fell apart.

Basically we are spent up and will have to make do short of another side giving charity.

Patricio Rodriguez. Sign him up! He's way better than Salah.

BTW it's about time somebody say it but Mourinho is a piece of shiite. The whole Salah deal is to hurt Liverpool as he will not get any substantial minutes in Chelsea.
Jose is an obnoxious individual ,with ugly football tactics and can't wait to see him fail.

Pure strategy. If the tables turned and chelsea were the threat to us, I would want the same tactics used.

If anything it's flattering and an indication of how far we have come under Rodgers that Mourinho is having to hijack our transfers to prevent our growth.

really you would do the same? buy player just so they won't play for your opponent? pretty disgusting tactics if you ask me ,no sportsmanship whatsoever. Killing the competition will eventually kill the game.

Not surprised at all. Looks like a dead windows for us.

I would rather we signed no one than more mediocre players we just don't need.

With the squad at its current standard (bordering on top four). Only players of the highest quality will improve us. We need to go all out and pay the going rate for these players or we will face another period of mediocrity.

Don't be so hysterical. Transfer hijacking is nothing new.

In the current state of football where money/revenue (rightly or wrongly) is the focal point of all the top clubs it's an obvious defensive strategy for clubs to prevent growth of a competitor and potentially displace them.

If you want to blame someone, blame the players who agree to these moves in full knowledge they are unlikely to be played. They're clearly after the money.

So,a few days lefts, what's plan b for bringing the quality players we need. I heard that LFC are now going after other targets as a result of Cheaski hijacking again...... Who are these other targets and are they for the first team or 'future'?

Maybe our pursuit of Salah was just a red herring to entice the like of Chelsea to hijack?

The art of misdirection?

Would love it to be true, but somehow think the rumours of us being within close to breaking the financial fair play rules being true. However, I'm not that gutted about losing out to Salah...we need a defensive midfielder, not a winger.

I disagree he is not the type  to slag off his own bosses and risk his position. I am not saying Salah was a player we really needed but It's happened too many times where we have lost out on signings due to stubbornness over fees or protracted discussions, this is down to those running the club

Interesting interview with BR on Talksport this morning regarding Salah...     maybe the deal with Chelsea isn't a done deal. BR seems to think theres still a chance he could come to us.

I tried not to make knee jerk reaction post here so I gave it 24 hours before posting...these Willian & Salah fiasco highlight to me one very clear point...the owner are not hungry enough, or do not trust that we could win the league or make serious assault for the CL spot, hence we keep shopping at the bargain/value section of the market. Arsenal, Spurs, ManU, City and Chelsea have all shown their willingness to write out large cheques but we don't. Trying to lowball a selling club, drag the negotiation till the very last minute etc, that's why we keep losing this Russian Roulette game! Oh well...
