They'll probably want to hold onto Rooney for the rest of this season and try to make it to 4th. Rooney will definitely leave the mancs in the summer though, especially if they don't qualify for the CL.
As for Mata, I don't think that he'll be such a great signing as everyone thinks he will. He will be OK but he won't be enough to resurrect them, at least not in this season. Not their type of player IMO.

im getting pretty sick of this not spending proper money on proper players especially when the owners are selling the ar$e out of the club in sponsorship deals. whats the point of it if we still don't have the funds to land a player. its hardly like the fee was extortionate either.

Not only that but we spend weeks if not months negotiating but Chelsea come along and get the deal done in one day!

Yep, one day is all it took them. Ridiculous, it really is. They have hijacked one of our targets for the 2nd time (1st being Willian). I'm sick to the back teeth with this. Everyone at the club involved with negotiating for players needs to take a good look at themselves, cause whatever they are doing isn't working. If the owners don't want to spend money or are looking for value at every turn, are, in today's game, in the wrong sport. Everyone knows that prices for footballers are very inflated, if you can't pay the asking price for a player you really want, then another club will. It's being reported that LFC backed away because Cheaski offered about 3 or 4m more. Does this prove that the owners don't have the stomach for the game? At this rate, we probably wouldn't even get a player from the lower leagues.
Now, with Johnson out indefinitely with multiple injurieswe are in disparate need for reinforcements (though it has to be said, Johnson has been pretty poor of late)
Come on LFC, please sort it out.
