I don't get it how we got into a f*cking "transfer saga" for f*cking Salah. It's as if it's us that are signing Mata. It's simple, you want the player, you pay the money. If United could make it simple with Mata I don't see why we couldn't do the same with Salah.

They'll probably want to hold onto Rooney for the rest of this season and try to make it to 4th. Rooney will definitely leave the mancs in the summer though, especially if they don't qualify for the CL.

As for Mata, I don't think that he'll be such a great signing as everyone thinks he will. He will be OK but he won't be enough to resurrect them, at least not in this season. Not their type of player IMO.

United are playing shyte but to be fair to them they've been missing their 2 best strikers for a large part of the season, that would affect anyone (imagine us relying on aspas and borini?) but Rooney and Van Persie are nearly back now and with the addition of Mata it will be like having a brand new strike force for them.
They are only 6 points away from us and we have got to go to Old Trafford yet so it's way too early to write them off. Don't forget as well most of their squad have won the title multiple times so they know how to deal with the pressure of a run in.
If Rodgers plays gerrard in that pirlo role again against Everton that gap could be down to 3 points on Tuesday!

didnt know enough about salah anyway to know if he would be a success in the prem or not but whats more worrying is that again we lose out on another player.

im getting pretty sick of this not spending proper money on proper players especially when the owners are selling the ar$e out of the club in sponsorship deals. whats the point of it if we still don't have the funds to land a player. its hardly like the fee was extortionate either.

Not only that but we spend weeks if not months negotiating but Chelsea come along and get the deal done in one day!

Granit Xhaka please. He'll do the job in the middle of the pitch. Or M'Villa.
Come on!!! The Mata signing would be like what Ozil was to Arsenal, giving the team a huge lift. Look where they are now :(

Yep, one day is all it took them. Ridiculous, it really is.  They have hijacked one of our targets for the 2nd time  (1st being Willian) :no . I'm sick to the back teeth with this.  Everyone at the club involved with negotiating for players needs to take a good look at themselves, cause whatever they are doing isn't working. If the owners don't want to spend money or are looking for value at every turn, are, in today's game, in the wrong sport. Everyone knows that prices for footballers are very inflated, if you can't pay the asking price for a player you really want, then another club will.  It's being reported that LFC backed away because Cheaski offered about 3 or 4m more. Does this prove that the owners don't have the stomach for the game? At this rate, we probably wouldn't even get a player from the lower leagues.

Now, with Johnson out indefinitely with multiple injuries  :eyebrow  we are in disparate need for reinforcements (though it has to be said, Johnson has been pretty poor of late)

Come on LFC, please sort it out.

Well Chelsea didn't outbid us for just a few million. They've paid 8 million more, double of what we were willing to pay. Salah is not worth that, not by any stretch.

And I don't think that it's as bad as some of you are making it to be. I doubt that we've been negotiating with Basel for weeks, as some of you say. We've probably just had Salah on our radar, maybe sent a bid which Basel refused. I doubt there was more into it than that.

its been the same every transfer window since ayre is handling them. how many times have we walked in to a club and basically offered way below the asking price. in this case its rumoured to be an offer of £8mil where they want £16mil. fair enough we want to get value but how can there be such a gap between valuations.
rodgers left us short with his squad choice this season and compounded it by spending a lot of money on deadwood. for me he needs to buy quality in this window and give us a proper shot at top 4.
i also read those comments from rodgers on johnson and it just leads me to think why on earth was he playing him every week when he knew he had multiple injuries. if he was carrying these injuries then it would explain his form. anyway he will come back at some stage and give us a boost because he will be concentrating on the W.C and might have a bit of work to do to get it.

If you work for a US corporation you can see this is exactly how they work these days, they are so obsessed with the legal side of contracts, due dilligence and price they would rather walk away from a contract than take too much risk, its pretty obvious that FSG will not get into a bidding war, they seem to decide on a budget for a player and won't move out of this, its pretty arrogant really and if they want us to push for a champions league place they need to change their system

if the manager really wanted the player then he should have got him, they have given him more than that in the past on allen, borini and recently sakho so i doubt they are meddling in transfers.
he had a right pop at tan a few weeks ago over malkay and owners interfering in the managers affairs so i doubt anyone is interfering in his. he's not going to come out to the worlds media and say stuff like that if he's henpecked himself.

Oh the joy of counting your chicken before they are hatched...it's always great to let the news out then take your sweet time to conclude a deal (including trying to lowball the selling club with half-ar$ed offer). Good thing the Spuds have spent all their Bale's pennies else they might get involved as well, and now we all know Jose is willing to spend his dirty money just to spike a potential opponent. Well done...now tell me we have plan B, and I hoped it won't necessitate Henry and his entourage to jet in again before the cheques are signed  :veryangry

Americans Americans...Who cares? Who ever handles scouting negotiation should do his fcking job..How many did we spend on Aspas and Alberto and Illori and for what? This legion of mediocrity marches into our hall does a U-turn and disappears back into obscurity ,with all those mediocre funds combined we could have bought one Mega star and go on with it..The Problem is that management in this team is mediocre ,they aren't professionals and that's why we are stuck in the rot.
