yeah, uniteds worst start since we last won the title in 89/90.
as we all know only too well when things start to go wrong at a big club it can be like trying to turn around a supertanker.

Long way to go yet - only been 6 games.

Another 6-8 games the picture will start to form.

dont underestimate the pressure that club is under, if they finish outside the top 4 it would be a financial disaster for them (given their interest payment obligations) and with the likes of arsenal and spurs going so well it`s not that far fetched a scenario.
when they went through bad times under ferguson the situation never really got out of control because no one dared questioned the managers methods, in other words there were no splits in the dressing room, but now in this post ferguson era it wouldnt surprise me if one or two united players arent already questioning moyes`s methods.
once that starts to happen its a rocky road.

They are the second biggest club in the club financially - they clear the interest payments by a country mile and make big profits each season.

They will make the top 4 - the quality they have in the squad will come through. A couple wins in a row and the outlook will be different.

It's been 6 games where they just haven't got into the right gear. Once RvP is back they will start winning consistently. They won't win the Prem but they will be in the top 3.

without CL footy they wont! and as i said dont underestimate what can happen at a club if splits and arguments start happening behind the scene`s.
dont forget moyes cleared out fergusons backroom staff, there`s no familiar faces for the players to go to

They make over a hundred million in profit each year with just around £30mil from CL - they have halved their debt to around £400mil now. They bring in so much money from everywhere. They being in double that what we do on a match day

What splits and arguments though ? You are currently just speculating.

He seems to have got Rooney on side.

Phil Neville is part of the backroom staff as well Giggs ! That's a couple of familiar faces there.

I'll bet you a tenner to charity that they will be clearly in the CL spots at the end of the season.

Should have been red for the first offence.

Should have his ban increased but it's that daft rule of nothing being allowed to be done because the ref gave a yellow

He received a yellow for the "tackle" on Vermalen, not for the scratching.

I'm jealous of Everton for having Barkley. What a player.

We do seem to miss out on quality local talent to Everton, barkley. rooney etc. we seem to cast our eyes further afield

we`ve had our fair share of good local lads over recent years - fowler, mcmanaman, carragher, gerrard, owen etc
but you make an interesting point, infact thats what benitez and heighway fell out over, heighway believed in bringing through local lads where as rafa thought our academy should be like the madrid/barca/ajax etc academies and bring in players from everywhere.
rafa believed we were limiting our options where as heighway believed liverpool and merseyside in general would always produce top players and just as importantly players that would run through brick walls for the club.
rafa won in the end, heighway was sacked.

united might have the quality but without the direction of fergie they are suffering. they can get the cheque book out as much as they want in january but there is no guarantee they will even get the players they want. the buccaneers are in disarray and also need serious cash injection so can the glazers afford both ?
yes they have won titles over the last few years but that was because of fergies influence and ability to get results when they arent deserved. fergie is sauron and moyes is golum. the difference is massive between them and thats what we are seeing now. if fergie was there they woudnt have lost 3 from their opening 6. they are no where near the team they where under fergie and with his squad also.
maybe this season they might make the top 4 but i doubt it will be a stroll for them  :no  lose another 3 out of their next 6 and they will be playing catch up for the rest of the season :nod
da! da! da! da-da! Im loving it !!

Another decent weekend for us... A win and some bad results for spurs and arsenal.

We really need to tighten up and stop giving these stupid little goals up, and keep scoring even tho we're already comfortably ahead tho because I could see goal difference actually coming into play when looking at CL places at the end of the season. I know we're only 7 games in, but you usually have runaway clubs by now. The table is really crammed up top, and I don't think Southampton are going to be a complete fluke. CL? no, but they could easily beat out some of the clubs that are supposed to be competing for it this year.

WBA are obviously no mugs. Totally deserved the draw vs Arsenal. They will cause us problems so we must be ready for them.

Anyway, what the hell happened at the White Hart Lane? Anyone caught that game?

your right mate west brom did play well infact they should have won, the two best chances in the game fell to annelka and he made a right mess of the first and was a bit unlucky with the second.
arsenals equaliser was going right into the keepers arms until it took a wicked deflection as well.
