Yea it's lovely when clubs like Norwich are signing better players than your own club.

I mean not Redmond... But Van Wolfswinkle has been a consistent goal scorer.

I guess I was referring to the fact that Redmond is in the mold of a young player with potential over proven talent.

I must be honest, nothing would make me happier, but doubt it's going to happen.

I hate to burst your bubbles but what I've been hearing is Alonso to Chelsea... And I wouldn't be surprised if that happens...

If there is any truth in the Alonso rumours, we should use Real's interest in Suarez to make sure they keep us sweet. They have a fair few players who they could use in any deal for Suarez and in terms of quality would improve us. However convincing them to come to us may be bit of an issue but we if we pay the wages, we are still a massive draw, CL or not.

Liverpool's no over-30s policy could scupper a move for Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso, 31, but manager Brendan Rodgers may bend the rules to land the former Reds midfielder for £10m.

I've heard the same, hope it's wrong and he'll come home to Liverpool

I can't see many reasons why Xabi would come back.

Yes he has a connection with the club but we have greater needs within the team than spending £10mil plus on a 31 year old Xabi. Gerrard plays his role now.

He's probably the best DM in the world, he's exactly what we need. He might not be the fastest and the most agile, qualities we're lacking in midfield at the moment, but he plays with his head and knows how to make his disadvantages to advantages.

He doesn't bring the physical dominance we need.

It's time to move on from Alonso, he currently plays in the CL for the biggest club in the world on £150 grand a week plus. We won't see him coming back and I can't put money on that
