I think the general feeling is the next signing has to be a corker! A top class player, either a CB or a DM. If we sign a top class striker then we can safely say Suarez is down the road.

tony barrett reckons rodgers is considering a move for gerard deulofeu from barca`s B team.
fans seem to think barrett must mean a loan deal because apparently this lad is `the` top prospect at barcelona and they dont reckon barcelona would sell him.
by the sounds of it he was a team mate of luis alberto`s in the barca B team and knows suso as well from the spanish U20 set up so maybe rodgers is hoping a few familiar faces may encourage the lad to give it a go here.

Not keen on delofeu on loan regardless of how good he is.

Would rather give the likes of Sterling and Suso game time than help develop a player for Barcelona at their expense.

I disagree with you guys. If we think the guy can contribute to the team, get him in loan. Perhaps he will really like it and want to stay. Or maybe he will go back to Barca, but then come back to us in a few years. I think the whole argument about loanees impeding the development of our own players is malarky because BR gets to see them every day in training so he knows exactly how good they are. I don't rate our youngsters as highly as others and if we have a chance to get the best prospect at Barcelona then we should take it as the risks are low.

our young players are not good enough though are they?  they just seem to be miles behind young players from the continent mainly Spaniards.

i think the  youth thats on the verge of the first team are decent enough but we are expecting too much too soon.
henderson has greatly improved last season and i would have thought he changed rodgers mind in his opinion of him. should be kept.
shelvey is a player who gets himself into fantastic positions with plenty of chances but is lacking the finish and for that reason id send him on loan but wouldnt sell.
suso is a great prospect and should be kept here, sterling likewise along with kelly and wisdom who have served us well for such a young age when asked.
id prefer to see us integrate them rather than prime a player for barca who might not be any better than our own texiera. that deal with sahin last year was a complete joke and i seriously hope we arent trying to engineer something similar.
