can't see David villa wanting to come to play burnley away on a wet cold Tuesday night in the 3rd round of the league cup.  because that's where he would be if he joined.  aspas, suarez, sturridge are all before villa on the team sheet , in my opinion.

David Villa...really??

Did we learn nothing from signing Morientes?

Aspas before Villa on the teamsheet

Villa is a proven goalscorer - would take him for a couple seasons on a cheap fee. But not as a replacement for Suarez.

I think many would be relatively excited about Sakho coming, but with PSG and Milan trying to tie him down I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Top player. Wouldn't mind if we went for him instead of the Greek. Doubt he'll come here though.

Villa's wages would make Joe Cole's contract look  like a YTS player...he wouldn't be cheap. What's more, he's got no pace and hasn't recovered from his injury.

Still would take him over someone like Aspas. Villa would still score goals

The transfer window opens on Monday and several transfers that have long been in the loop are ready to be announced.

Across Europe all the deals that you have heard of as being ‘done’ will be fully ratified tomorrow as well as a plethora of marketable bachelors joining the free agent list.

have been very busy this summer not only in fending off rumours over the future of Luis Suarez but also in player recruitment. The signings of Luis Alberto, Simon Mignolet and Iago Aspas will all be ratified officially tomorrow along with a few more deals that have been ‘confirmed’ already this summer. Kolo Toure for instance will sign. This deal has been agreed in principle and the parties involved will finalise the formalities of the deal tomorrow; when a two-year contract at Anfield will be ratified.

Expect to see a picture of Kolo with a Liverpool shirt in the coming days.

But here are a few more players we are just waiting for new announcements on…

Sergi Canos

It was reported in May that Liverpool had agreed to sign the 16-year-old winger from Barcelona after rejecting a new contract at La Masia. With July 1st around the corner this heavily rumoured interest should be confirmed in due course. He was linked with Manchester City and Arsenal previously but has instead reportedly decided that Anfield is the right place to continue his development.

Pedro Chirivella

Dubbed as the ‘new Sergio Busquets’ that may not be fair on the young Spaniard; as while he does play in a similar style to the Barcelona stalwart he is in fact far more proficient going forward. The 16-year-old is currently on the books at Valencia and has captained Spain’s under-16 side. He has previously been linked with Barcelona so if this deal is confirmed it would be yet another indication of Rodgers’ philosophy of talented young technical players at the club.

Unai Lopez

This deal is not considered as ‘done a deal’ as the previous pair but it was reported earlier in the month that Liverpool had met the 17-year-olds buy-out clause at Athletic Bilbao and the right-sided midfielder would be on his way to Liverpool this summer. He turned down Barcelona when he was 15 due to potential homesickness but two years on the rumour mill churns that he has matured enough to make the move.

Herbie Kane

We will also be expecting confirmation of the arrival of this talented 14-year-old from Bristol City. He may be too young, even for Rodgers to consider playing him right now, but he has been likened to Steven Gerrard in playing style and played for City’s under-18 side last season.

Who’s next?

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly on his way to Liverpool for a medical according to reports in Russia whilst German and English reports would suggest he is to sign for Borussia Dortmund. That deal could also be confirmed by tomorrow at the earliest although a little later in the week is more likely; wherever his chosen destination.
