Schurrle is not a striker like Torres, he's more of a winger. At Chelsea he'll have Hazard, Oscar, Mata ahead of him so that's why I can see him sharing a similar fate as Marin.

Does anyone else just not particularly rate Oscar or is it just me?

I can see Mourinho binning him eventually.

If I were Chelsea I'd move Mata central behind the striker and play Hazard and Schurrle either side.

Flatters to deceive - looks very skilful , lots of ability but produces very little

I saw this over a week ago

from "Caught Offside" site
Liverpool look to have made the surprise decision to sign Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen, despite having previously agreed terms with Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
It is thought that Brendan Rodgers was targeting the Shakhtar star as a backup option to Eriksen, who seemed more likely to be moving to Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for the departing Mario Goetze.

However CaughtOffside understands, the 21-year-old has previously stated that he would favour a move to English football, particularly with Liverpool, and the move now looks to be back on as the Reds finalise a deal between themselves and Ajax.

Eriksen is also likely to be cheaper than Mkhitaryan, due to being in the final year of his contract with the Amsterdam club, and the reported transfer fee is around £15million, while the Armenian attacker would’ve been closer to £20million ....................

Eriksen would arguably be the most exciting deal of the lot, after establishing himself as one of the most exciting young players in the world since making his debut as a teenager for the Eredivisie side. The likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have also previously been linked with him, but he seems the ideal player to slot into Liverpool’s current attacking style of play.

His signing would likely see no place for Mkhitaryan, though the talented 24-year-old is likely to leave Ukraine for one of Europe’s top clubs at some point in the near future, after becoming a star player for the club in recent years.

Personally I'd love it if we signed Eriksen but it's all gone quiet on the Eriksen talk since that article was published

Is/was it again just rumour and nothing more,  anybody heard anything ?

Would prefer Henrik - more of a threat but Eriksen isn't a bad second option

12 months ago BR let it be known Liverpool would give young talent a chance to break into the first team. Last season he demonstrated this and young lads dominated our line up. We're seeing the fruit of that policy as young talent from all over europe are letting it be known they want to come to Liverpool. Some will not meet the mark but thats to be expected, but the policy will work and within 2 years these lads will have gelled into a great team.

Bild reported that Dortmund have bid £25 million for Henrik.  That would suck.

A well known ITK on twitter, same one who broke the Aspas, Mignolet and Stadium stories is claiming that a deal for Suarez to leave is done and that he will leave right at the end of the transfer window so the club can say too late to replace him

Possibly a load of b0llox, only time will tell

Unrelated to any ITK twitter stuff, my personal view is that the deal is done in principle for Suarez and has been for a while.

I think our positive early moves in the transfer market are driven by this.  With Carroll and Suarez both off, that has given us £55mish of funds to spend, and a shed load of wages to play with.

I think Mignolet replaces Reina, cost neutral, but lower wages, and Aspas and Alberto replace Carroll, probably on lower wages combined than he was.

I only hope that the Suarez money brings in at least one proven quality player so that we don't go backwards.  Erikksen or Mkhitaryan fit that bill.  We clearly also need at least one CB and I'd get a DM too, probably Wanyama from Celtic (or however you spell it).
