Not according to Rush himself - he was quick over the first couple of yards because he was quick thinking and knew where to position himself. He got himself in the right place before a defender.

Higuain isn't slow nor is he lighting but he scores goals - regulary and at the top level.

Agreed. We would have had to accept 10 if they'd played hardball.

Still can't believe they agreed on his 100k wage demands.

I would have to see a copy of the contract before I believe that he is on a straight £100k a week when no other club has shown any interest in him whatsoever in the last 15 months, except for an idiotic offer from Newcastle that was treated with the contempt that it deserved. Maybe a Suarez performance related type of contract will give him the potential to earn £100k a week but then West Ham will probably have to win the league for him to collect !!

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a £23m deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The 24-year-old has reportedly flown to the UK to finalise a deal and this image of the Armenian international signing a Liverpool shirt was tweeted by journalist Artur Petrosyan, editor-in-chief of Russian publication sport-express.ru.

His penmanship looks awful, but at least he looks like he's been practicing raising his tea with an elevated pinky to appease the upper class.

I was expecting the first team squad to have 4, maybe 5 new members but it looks like it will 6, 7, 8  or even more. Simon Mignolet (Reina), Kolo Toure (Carragher), Tiago Ilori (Coates), Kyriakos Papadopoulos (Skrtel), Iago Aspas (Downing), Christian Atsu (Suso going out on loan), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Sahin), Luis Alberto (Shelvey).

We can do a group unveiling like we did in the Houllier days!

Maybe he can play left back? This is getting a bit crazy!

Read his auto bio in reference to Rush - Higuain isn't slow - he may not be Bellamy pace but he isn't slow.

Vialli and Crespo both scored goals in the prem

Schevchenko arrived too late in his career and Nando didn't work out.

You are right scoring goals abroad doesn't mean you will score in the prem but its a fair guess that he will when you look at his credentials and past record.

Still missing a CB - a proven quality dominating CB and DM.
