If not why would Barce be tracking a player in their own club ?

He means Luis Alberto, he is a Seville player that has been on loan at Barca B last season.

His record is alongside someone like David Nugent who is a 1 in 3 striker in the lower divisions

Would we be claiming him as a good signing ?

60 goals in 130 appearances.

Yes. More of a goal threat than Downing.

The point is waiting.

So the signing has some risk associated with it, get over it. It won't be the first time a club takes a punt on a player. What gripes most of us on here is the inability of some (mainly you) to allow a player to prove himself, actually the way you been harping on you'd criticise the club for signing Messi.

Well said SCS.

Unfortunately we're going to have one poster on here all summer who "antagonizes, irritates, criticizes and politics"  over every signing made because he doesn't like Rodgers.

Not worried about Papadopolous' agent's comments today. Borini and Coutinho's agents said exactly the same before they moved to us.

The difference between that and the Suarez situation is we already registered our interest in Papadopolous. No one on the other hand registered an interest on Suarez.

Erikson did not want to come to Liverpool.. end of!  He pretty much said as much in a recent interview which I am trying to find.

Sone proper drama queens on this site, shouting ***** about BR when realistically none of us know what is going on behind the scenes.. do you think BR would not want Erikson? He would fit perfectly into the style of play he wants us to play, but if he doesnt want to come he isnt going to come is he??

apparently we went off erikssen when coutinho turned out to be such a big hit, with a limited budget like ours it`s a distinct possibility that rodgers decided that strengthening other area`s of the team was more of a priority.
i`m not against signing up and coming talents on the cheap (like this luis alberto lad we`ve just signed), i`m just against blowing half our transfer budget on someone like this aspas, if we would have got him for £2m or something then maybe i could understand but £9m euro`s?
we already have a sizable points gap to close between us and the teams that finished above us, the odds of us bridging that gap by blowing half of our transfer kitty on someone like aspas when united, chelsea and city are being linked with the likes of fabregas, modric, rooney and ronaldo must be huge.
and the fact that luis looks almost certain to leave has sent those odds spiralling even higher.

Is this half of our £20 mill budget that the press know all about??  Nobody knows what our budget is except FSG.  and if our budget is only £20 mill we wouldnt be able to buy any of the targets of other clubs anyway..

Who would you like to spend our "£20 mill" on?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

It's like flogging a dead horse trying to explain how anyone apart from FSG know what the budget is.

This forum has a couple of drama queens on it who like nothing better than to fear-monger.

the £20m was a figure from the echo, and if it was me i`d spend that money on erikssen and papadopolos.
erikssen has one year left on his contract and ajax are keen to sell him, in january he can sign pre contract agreements with other clubs so according to press reports ajax are prepared to let him go for 13 million euro`s. the reported fee for papadopolous is around £10m-£12m.
much rather see players of that ilk come in, at the very least they`d give the fanbase a bit of hope.

How can anyone think we have a £20m budget?

We are likely to generate a $hit load of £ from player sales, and our spending will depend mainly on that.  Some maybes...

Reina  £10m
Skertl  £7m
Carroll   £15m
Spearing £3m
Suarez  £45m

Any or all of those will have the biggest impact on what we have to spend, and BR will know better than anyone how many of those are likely to happen.

I'm encouraged at the apparent speed of our dealings so far, and our intent looks good.

apparently the fee for aspas hasnt been finalised because celta vigo may be relegated if they lose this weekend.
if they go down the fee basically halves to 4.5m.
4.5 is more like it but knowing our luck they`ll stay up.

This transfer window is starting to seem like it might be a lot crazier than I anticipated.   I thought we'd just be focusing on the defence and maybe an attacker.

Now we might be looking to replace almost our entire Centre half, we may need to find a replacement GK and deal with our star player leaving.
Come August we could potentially be without Suarez, Reina, Carroll, Carra, Skrtel, Coates etc.

Hate to say it... but we might be in for another transition season if some or all of these players leave.
