Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Umm Hodgson didn't spend any more when they became owners of the club - he spent his money under H&G not FSG - it seems your knowledge is lacking a little

Running as a self sustain won't bring us success - yes they should invest their own money in their business to improve its performance. Speculate to accumulate - spend to succeed. It's exactly how the clubs that win do it. Sell to buy. Doesn't work. Arsenal will point that out for you

How do you expect them to improve the stadium to improve our income ? They need to spend to build that but they won't

It's exactly how it was under Moores.

Yes you are right so we are down to a mere and pathetic £160m. THE PRINCIPAL IS STILL THE SAME !!! Blah de blah de blah.........

Why do you chose to ignore the fact that they have already directly or indirectly invested a veritable shed load of their own money? £300m to buy the club didn't actually fall off a nearby money tree!

Anyway enough. I've had my fill of your miserable negativity and will do my best to ignore you.

£230 mil to buy the club plus keeping £50mil of debt.
As I already stated that's the only money they have used from their own funds.

But it's good that you are getting closer to the facts.

We don't have to sell to buy. We would have sold those players anyway. No reason to keep players that the manager doesn't want. And it would be only reasonable to use the money we get from them to buy new players. Plus a little investment by the owners and we have 40 mil to spend. That is a reasonable budget. As long as we don't spend it on Carrolls, Downings, Hendersons or Allens, we should be good. The owners have done good guys, we only have ourselves to blame now.

Please do stop throwing insults and back off

I'm sticking to the subject at hand ok

Just because you may not agree with my opinion doesn't give you the right to have a go at my "support"

If you want a true picture of the opinion of the owners then listen to people in the crowd at the matches - read the forums , read twitter , listen to people on 5Live - listen to the fans.

The opinion about them is quite strong in regards their ownership of the club

Guess when Henry was last in the country or Werner for example.

They live Ayre running the club - do a check on him and his time at Huddersfield and what happened there.

We have a lack of proven experience at the club and it shows.

They want to do via the self sustain model - a model that doesn't bring success. A model that Arsenal started 7 years ago - it doesn't work. They will find out soon enough and the club will be sold on within 3-5 years.

In fact I can tell you what the difference is between me and you

You have accepted our current situation and seem happy with it

I on the other want better - a lot better for my club.

You were the first one to bring out the razor blades. Unfortunately it catches on and you've bleed us all dry.  :(

Hey Kenny, my moans have been about poor player buys and half hearted player performances, I have never slagged off the manager nor the owners. I'm fully behind both. Carol, Downing and Henderson in particular have felt my wrath for sure.

You're on drugs son, way out of control.  :eyebrow

J.Henry admitted recently he and Werner had less time for soccer as yanks like to call it. Their Boston R.S. are bogging them down. They are not serious about returning Liverpool back to glory and as long as they remain as owners, Liverpool are condemned to mid table mediocrity with a mid table manager appointed by them in charge. Their policy is to sign kids and hope they will come out good. The problem is, if they do come out good, they will leave for clubs that can provide them with CL football and we'll sign more kids to replace them. These owners are jokers.

They've bought the club, sorted out one hell of a pickle and returned us to an even keel. If they bail out then I will be always thankful. Meantime, they have said nothing nor done nothing to suggest they are anything other than 100% committed. The rest is pure speculation + bored minds.

If we harbor any ambition of ever getting back into the champions league, let alone winning the league then we need wealthy owners, who can finally deliver the new stadium plus pump about £150 million into the transfer kitty.
Self sustaining is fine and well if you're at the top of the pile like Manure, Real, Barca, Bayern Munich etc but not when you are trying to catch up like we are.

I think at this point in time a new stadium would certainly keep us out of the CL or title contention for a good decade or so, a bit like Arsenal. We'll be paying debt off and we'll have no transfer fees to speak of.

F.uck that.

i read a stat recently that said if the season would have started on november the 1st we`d be 3rd in the league now.
it was that start that sunk us (and not just on the field) because over the last 5 months only united and spurs have accumilated more points.
i know it`s 2 steps forward and one step back but we are going in the right direction.

It's obviously progress but it doesn't have to mean anything .If the 2010/2011 season (Hodgson and Dalglish season) started in December we would have been second. Next season we finished 8th.
