Loaning out Aquilani cost Kenny his job !!!!!!!!

Now thats priceless ?!?

Come on - he may have a bit of talent in terms of passing the ball but lets not overplay the guy ffs .

Its getting ridiculous now - the way some talk about him you would think he was Messi or Iniesta.

Aquilani is 27 now and he can be bought for £4 mil - thats not a top player. He has not fulfilled any potential he had - either at Roma or at Liverpool or at Milan or at Juve. For him to be called a top player then he has had to show it on the pitch over a consistent period.

KK lost his job because the owners didnt want him in the first place.
Add as many excuses you want as reasons for his sacking but he was a dead man walking from the start. Even if we had won the FA cup they would have used the league position as ammo

There were a number of factors that resulted in Dalglish being given his notice but I dont think loaning out Aquilani was one of them. Im perplexed by his latest press statement tbh, I find it very hard to believe that he wanted to stay in England rather than travel back to his native Italy two seasons in a row and that it was the Liverpool manager in charge at the time that forced his hand, couldnt he just have said "No, Im staying?"

Hes still a talented footballer, and I think he would flourish with the right kind of midfield around him and protecting him, but the question is really has he done enough in a Liverpool shirt to be afforded such freedom? Not in my opinion.

I don't buy that for 1 min mate. If they didn't want him they wouldn't have given him the job let alone a shed load of money. Even if we had won the FA Cup it would have only papered over the cracks. We were awful last season as no domestic cup would have covered it up. Id have traded that and the carling cup to have been back in the top 4 and CL.

Im not going to argue mate. My minds made up
They were reluctant to give KK the managers job but the fans demanded it and the media absolutely creamed at "the return of the King". Money had to be spent no matter who was in charge but if Torres would have stayed it would only have been half as much.
I am convinced that KK would have at least have to finish top 4 and win a trophy to keep the job. We had a bad season, no doubt, but enough to sack a legend after just one full term? Any idiot could see we were playing badly and had virtually the whole nation against us because of the other little tw@t and his purple nosed boss. Did these things not entitle KK to have another chance on a level playing field?
No. Because they wanted a younger man as soon as they arrived at the club. They wanted someone who thought the same as them, not one who, if he wished, could turn the supporters against them. They wanted him upstairs and being ambassadorial, not on the touchline or in the media making blunders.
I dare say they were pleased with our overall performance as it helped their cause no end

There were many contributing factors to the eventual outcome last season. But one can argue his history with the media always meant that he was only ever a few bad results away from them turning on him, which they duly did. The Suarez affair didn't help either, but in terms of how he set the team up week in week out, the tactics, that was all him. And at the end of the day the players just didn't seem to want to try any more.

See thats where youre wrong
The players tried their best at the end of the season and nearly won the fa cup (Carrolls goal and the disallowed one) and duly tw@tted the fa and champions league winners (Carroll tore JT a new anal opening) and Im convinced if the league would have carried on another month wed have risen to at least 5th?
In fact things started to click together more than at any time in the season. Yet it wasnt good enough
Because they didnt want him in the first place...

Goodbye Alberto: Liverpool get rid of £20m flop Aquilani

Liverpool have agreed to offload Italian flop Alberto Aquilani to Fiorentina for £7million, according to The People.

Kop boss Brendan Rodgers shipped out the midfielder to the Serie A side as he quickly looks to put his own stamp on the squad.

Aquilani has been a disaster for Liverpool since arriving for £20m from Roma in 2009. After struggling for fitness and form, he was loaned out to AC Milan last season.

The midfielder has played in a couple of pre-season games but did not figure in Rodgers’ plans for next season. Rodgers also wants to make way for a new midfield capture – and 28-year-old Aquilani’s £100k-a-week wages going off the payroll will help.

The new Anfield chief is keen to push on with a bid for Swansea’s Team GB midfielder Joe Allen but will not meet the Swans’ £15m valuation.

Rodgers hopes he can land Allen for around £9m and find a way round his ‘vow’ of not going back to the Welsh club for players. The Allen move will also be difficult as Swansea want a replacement teed up first.

Bolton’s Mark Davies is in their sights, despite him being labelled ‘not for sale’.

some of my mates who watched the training sessions and the game yesterday in Baltimore told me Aquilani wasn't training with the team.

Aquilani supposedly picked up a knock in training so wasn’t risked against Spurs. I think that story about Fiorentina is originally from The People which is notoriously inaccurate. It looks like a rehashed story from last summer but I think Rodgers would sell given the opportunity.
