How he was treated ? How exactly was he treated ? Aquilani was played in pre season then clubs offered him a way out and he took it - im still unsure what exactl the manager did wrong to make him such a frail person to jump at the chance to leave.

If we wanted to keep him he would have stayed. Kenny wanted the "british revolution" instead.

yet he bought Suarez, Enrique and Coates - not sure when they got british passports

As soon as an italian club shows an interest in him he will be off in a flash

lets stop kidding ourselves here

Oh i forgot Suarez, enrique and Coates played in aquamans position.

He might leave yes, but after we have tried to get rid of him for two years i would not blame him. However I think b-rod might be the kind of manager that actually considers aquilani as valuable, and will convince him to stay.

If Aquliani hasnt got the bottle to fight for his place he can f*ck off - we have wasted over 20 million on him and its time to cut him loose.

Im pretty annoyed that wasters like him get a second chance whilst Carroll who is actually willing to fight for his place is cast aside.

Agree it is harsh.

Its just a pity no one is interested in the half arsed Italian crock. To get him off the books would be a relief.

Good watch that

I know its a 2 minute clip but it shows some great football being played and a really good understanding with Gerrard.

If he wanted to stay he would definitely suit the style of passing that rodgers will be wanting to implement.
But would he carry out the pressing that will be required ?

He is not suited to playing as a proper central midfielder like Lucus, Alonso and Masch but playing the Sigurdsson role and linking up with the forwards he could make a massive difference to our attacking play.

He could.

Its not like we are blessed with options in that sort of area.

The problem is, he doesnt want to be here.

His presence at the club will improve the squad's depth. I think he is a good player to have on the bench. I would rather keep him than sell him at a big loss. But, as many suggest, he doesn't want to be with us.

I'm not too worried... It's good to have him on the bench. With no clubs from Italy seemingly wanting to buy him outright, he will be willing to proof himself even if he doesn't want to play for Liverpool.

im not so sure having an unhappy player in the squand is all that good to be fair. The lad doesn't want to be here and will be obviously sitting our his contract, waiting for a move back to Italy.

Yes, as I said he won't be happy here so that's a bit of a problem, but on the other hand, we'll only use him as they used him in Milan; enter the game from the bench every now and again in order to speed up the tempo or help in midfield or just rest somebody, that's all that we'll need him to do. He won't be a key player in the squad, won't even be a starter. That's why I think his happiness won't have a great impact in our squad. I also think that he is not the kind of a player that will let his feelings take over. I believe that if he stays, he will do the job that will be asked from him. At the end, he should have thought of things, you know, his happiness and stuff, before he singed a 5 year contract with us. I say we keep him, happy or not.

Lets face it he has been farmed out on loan the last two seasons as both RH and Kenny decided he wasn't in the plans, RH wanted Poulsen and Kenny wanted to play his new recruits so I am not surprised if he is a bit p1ssed and wary about staying here, however, if BR is going to use him why would he be an unhappy player, with Borini coming in that may sway him to want to stay and fight for a place. I like to see him given a chance playing behind Suarez and Borini.

33 out of 34 passes completed yesterday, not into stats normally but i noticed rodgers said yesterday that he wants the players to feel `embaressed` if they give the ball away.
this philosophy suits aquilani`s game down to the ground, he`s great at knocking the ball around in little triangles in midfield.
he would be in my starting XI every day of the week.

Stats are meaningless if used in isolation. He did pass the ball at times well but he also dwelled on the ball a number of times which lost possesion and then didn't realise press the player to try and get the ball back , he also panicked a number of times at the top of the box so just lumped it away.

If he wants another chance at the club we will need to see a lot more than that.
