Aquilani has been a Liverpool player for 3 years now - how many games has he played ? 8

Cole is our past - 30 year old on 90 grand a week with fu.cked knees

I would rather look to the future than those two or are our past IMO

Yes I was disappointed with the appointment - I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one - BUT hopefully this will sink in now to people I'm more than willing to give him my full support as soon as he gets started and I will support him for as long as he is manager ( unless he gets us into a relegation dog fight then questions would need to be asked ) and he needs more time than a lot of our fanbase will give

I will say this again for you because it seems some are either blind or too thick to understand

" I AM NOT WRITING OFF BRENDAN RODGERS"

I am worried about the coming season and how it will go , I'm worried about the players we will attract , I'm worried about the players we can lose and most of all I am worried that in 12 months time people like 7 Kewell will be shouting for another manager to be sacked because the manager couldnt reach the unrealistic expectations placed on him. The new manager needs more than one season but I worry he won't get that.

As for the mediocre comment - it is the truth - we were mid table last season and we have appointed a manager who was also mid table - until otherwise proven we are currently mediocre - I worry it stays that worry and I'm not going to apologise for worrying about a club I have supported longer than some on here have been alive. I'm certainly not deluded enough to think that all our problems suddenly disappeared the minute Kenny was sacked and Rodgers appointed.

It's now up to Rodgers to prove the doubters wrong , to wipe away any worries and he will be support - I will be cheering my voice raw the minute the season starts in support.

Shall we read through the various Kenny threads and highlight your "support"

I will wait with disgust your first "Rodgers out " cry because it will come from someone like you.

I understand your concerns but when the MD says that they have spoken to well informed people in football about appointing Rodgers I believe him. I don't believe that these owners or the club would do anything risky in either the short term or the long term. It's early days but I think the team will improve under Rodgers.

On Carroll it looks like the new manager likes him so he has time to keep improving and developing.

It is very early days.

He did well at Swansea after disappointing at Reading and being sacked

But going to Liverpool is different - he is speaking very well at the moment but it will be his actions that will count.

You didn't even wait 10 minutes before putting the boot in

You agreed with a poster saying we’re “f**ked and doomed to midtable obscurity” 5 minutes after we get a new manager....now you harp on about how there’s no patience in modern football.

You couldn’t make it up

We will see exactly how long you last Kewell until you continue the same vein and support you showed out previous manager - 4 months I think you lasted.

here's an idea, rather than arguing over who wrote him off or who will jump on his back first, why don't we get some data about our new boss, try to understand him more, discuss his philosophy, set up, formations or potential transfer targets. Come on lads, there's loads to be excited about at LFC at them moment, why don't we leave the bickering at the door?
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Ok, then. Originally you wrote off Rodgers but have since changed your mind and edited your posts to that effect. He now has your backing for at least two seasons.

In light of the above comment, however, you still can't claim to be  "giving the whole squad a chance", as Cole and Aquilani are both still Liverpool players who our manager has said will have a chance to prove themselves. If you've changed your opinion again, that's ok. Presumably just another gut reaction?

I don't consider them part of the squad

Definatly not Aquilani who will either leave for about 3 mil or go on loan again

And expect Cole to go as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing ALL our players get a fresh chance, under a new manager with new ideas.

Who knows, maybe he can transform some of Kenny's dross into good players?  IF not, at least he'll have the guts to show them the door
