Andy Carroll signs for West Ham

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby Octsky » Sat Apr 14, 2012 3:22 pm

I think Andy needs to understand that despite the 35m price tag, he is not expected to float like a butterfly like Suarez, pass like Gerrard, or let fly from 30 yards like Gerrard. Nor is he expected to bend it like Beckham.

His role is simple - to give us a physical presence upfront and to score simple goals when they present itself in the 6 yards box. I think he is beginning to understand that now.

Yeah, very happy for the lad. Long may it continue.

I'm pleased for the lad he did well today and got his reward. Scoring in successive games is great for him Kenny must keep him in next week against West Brom so that his confidence can start to get better.

Have a good night gents and lasses

i take it you watched it then?

Just the second half. I wasnt intending to watch any... I'm nervous as f'ck (to this day i have no idea how i managed to watch the penalties in the 2005 CL final).

His goal beat the bitters at Wembley.. the team i despise more than any other, and so for that i'm eternally grateful to the big fella. :bowdown

Andy did very well against the so-called in form team that Moyes reckoned the country was behind. What an annoying c.unt Moyes is. The best manager in the world according to the bitters couldn't bring himself to give Liverpool one single word of credit. We absolutely dominated the second half and could have won 5-1. Carroll could have had a hat-trick and was unlucky to only get one which he more than deserved.WELL DONE ANDY - I NEVER HAD ANY DOUBT!!!!!!!!!  :bowdown

thought he was magnificent today, almost as impressive as his goal was his never say die attitude, lost count of the amount of times he won possession back and despite missing a couple of chances he never hid.
in the last 2 games he`s scored a last minute winner in a game where we have been down to 10 men for over an hour and now whatever happens he`ll go down in the history books as the player who scored a last gasp winner against everton at wembley in a F.A  cup semi final. those type of moments are remembered forever.
he`s better on the floor than people give him credit for as well. he`s been playing well since christmas but hasnt had the luck infront of goal.
well done andy lad.

hells hounds couldnt have kept me from watching that game or any liverpool game tbh.
carroll played well today and he did miss a sitter but he more than made up for it with his relentless pressing which he got rewarded for with his goal.his workrate has improved drastically over the last while and he's beginning to score again which will boost his confidence no end and help us in the run in.

glad to see you can be humble and removed that awful sig you had :nod .

really delighted for Andy, he is trying his best to do better, even after the sitter he kept his head up and got a goal

let's hope he keeps it that way and let's hope Kenny doesn't drop him, he needs a run of games.

I actually get a kick out of the "He was Shlt until the goal" concessions some made in the last two Match Threads.
