Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is hoping to secure funds to make an ambitious move for Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini  as he looks to beef up the club’s attacking options. Having seen his Italian side crash out of the Champions League the Italian international may well be interested in a move to the Premier League.

Salcido is going to Fulham for 1.6m quid

I've never really seen the player before so I looked him up on you tube. His goals seems to be more like calculative strikes more in the mould of Owen than Torres it seems. It's strange sometimes... because his goals aren't that beautiful and powerful like torres' goals but most of the time wrongfoots the keeper or has a very good placing.

shyte player, never made it at Real, never made it at Milan, will never make it with Liverpool. 12m? worth 6m to me.

On other news, we are in for Inler as replacement for Masch, I hope this is true, Inler is a very good midfielder

Indeed he's definitely the best striker we've been linked with so far (crappy source though). Scored 3 goals for Sampdoria in their two CL-qualifiers against Werder Bremen recently, and they were quite good goals aswell. Would like him here, but I really doubt it's gonna happen.

Just out of curiosity: how come everyone seems to rate Salcido so highly? I'm asking because I have only seen him play sparingly myself (and mostly for Mexico), but if he isn't good enough to start for PSV in the dutch league (hasn't he been on the bench there lately?), what makes everyone think he'll be the answer to our prayers re the LB-position?

I guess we can't really know if we were even interested in Salcido ,but to me it's a huge disappointment - this is exactly the kind of signings we should be going for.If Conchesky is signed instead of this guy i would really have given up on what is going inside a Permier league manager head.

Damn it, he would have been a good signing though - has scored more goals than our team combined so far in the PL you know :D (or should it be :( )
