One or two may go and theres a chance big andy will go on loan and that may well be somewhere that hasnt been mentioned so far. This is the reality of it all, we have spent a fair few quid this summer and unless carrol goes for 20 odd and with good time to allow us to bring someone in then theres little chance of much more happening. We have two midfielders, a winger and striker on board so thats a decent start.

if carroll went on loan with our lack of strikers i would be fuming

Have faith in Adam Morgan. He might be young but I'm convinced he's capable of stepping up.

What exactly convinces you ? Remember he struggled last season to score at reserve level and often found himself on the bench. He is nowhere near the ability required currently to be a prem striker.

Yes. He stays or is replaced by top quality. I think he is out the door, but I think that'll be a mistake. He isn't world class, but I don't see us getting anyone better.

Hard to say at this point but we would still be extremely light in that area.

i agree. we're kidding ourselves if we think we'll get him.

we're essentially looking at adam/spearing/carroll out and dempsey/another in.

I'm disregarding the Llorente story straight off with it coming from the s*n, that should be enough proof it's bollox.

Talksport were reporting that Llorente nonsense, and considering Bilbao are on record stating they will only except his full buy out clause plus the tax required which equates to about forty five million euros for a player with one season left on his contract there is absolutely zero chance of the big man going anywhere

i cant see liverpool selling carroll and buying llorente, rodgers is saying carroll doesnt fit his style of play but llorente does?
the difference between llorente and carroll is that llorente is 27 and carroll is 23, infact llorente`s scoring record early on in his career is probably worse than carrolls but the past 2 or 3 seasons he`s started banging them in. thats what happens when target men centre forwards start to get into their mid to late 20`s.
when llorente was 19 he played 16 games in the spanish second division and scored 4 goals.
when he was 20 he played 15 games in la liga and scored 3 goals
when he was 21 he played 22 games in la liga and scored 2 goals
when he was 22 he played 23 games in la liga and scored 2 goals
when he was 23 he played 35 games in la liga and scored 11 goals
when he was 24 he played 34 games in la liga and scored 14 goals
when he was 25 he played 37 games in la liga and scored 14 goals
when he was 26 he played 38 games in la liga and scored 18 goals
when he was 27 he played 32 games in la liga and scored 17 goals

compare that to carroll`s record

when he was 19 he played 14 games in the prem scoring 3 goals
when he was 20 he played 39 games in the championship scoring 17 goals
when he was 21 he played 19 games in the prem and scored 11 goals for newcastle and 7 games and 2 goals for liverpool
when he was 22 he played 35 games in the prem and scored 4 goals for liverpool

i dont think there is much difference in their records, if anything carroll`s is more impressive and he had to deal with the upheavel of moving for £35m to a big club when he was 21.

I think we’ll sign Dempsey and an up-and-coming striker who no one suspected. And that is it.

dunno anything about the kid but presumably he's a signing for the reserves.

I really hope we can sell off Adam and get Dempsey in. Please let it happen!!!
