So what's happening to Joe Allen, Clint Dempsey, and Ramirez rumours? Who're we getting FFS?

1. Ramirez is a baseless rumour - nothing more than that

2. Allen with have made an inital bid which was rejected but we will be back for him and expect him to sign

3. Dempsey - he was only a second choice player and we walked away after being quoted too much for him in the clubs opinion.

benny, it has been widely reported in the uk and italian press that there was contact between liverpool and bologna at the beginning of this month. its fairly certain that rodgers is/was interested in ramirez and began to make enquiries. how far the thing will get is anybody's guess, but i guess we should admit we're probably not his most attractive option. unless you have evidence that the whole story about us being linked with the player is completely false then you should hold back a bit on dissing every body elses thoughts about it.

Widely reported ?

You had a journo in South America saying he was joining within him 48 house around 3 weeks ago - there has not been one credible source in regards any contact between us and Bologna. Bologna actually stated they had confirmed interest from Napoli - no one else.

there were actually 2 or 3 urguayan journalists reporting it independently, fairly respected ones too apparently, for what its worth. there were also noises coming from italian and uk sources which i can't be bothered going back and checking. i consider that to be a basis for a decent enough rumour. how far it went and whether it will actaully happen is a different matter altogether.

His agent says he expects him to stay in England following the Olymipcs. Says there is strong interest from a premier league club. Between ManCity and Liverpool the last I heard. Worryingly though, his agent said the likes of Napoli, Inter Milan and Wolfsburg were priced out of a move for the player. Says Bologna want around 20mill pounds for him. Dont think we have a chance in hell.

@duncanjenkinsFC also stated that we were interested and he has got loads of things right, so much so that the whole of Rawk are following him and the Mods have approved him as a reliable source. It does look like he was looked at seriously in June and contact was made with Bologna but everything has gone quite since then. They have upped their price from 20mil EUR to 25mil EUR so might be putting us off.

it's because Dalglish wanted him, I don't know if the B-Rod is interested

i'm not convinced about this 'we haven't got any money' idea. to me it seems ludicrous that they would give dalglish so much and then give their new manager - the first manager that is actually theirs - nothing unless he sells first. i'm sure they are smarting a bit from the relative lack of return from last year's investment but i'm sure they would see sense in spending on the right player. regardless of whether their is any substance in the rumour or not, ramirez is probably one of those players.
