Though I think the club needs to just bite the bullet and bring in the best players they can, if that means foreign talent, then so be it. There are only a few British players worth having, but the price is so inflated, that it's just not worth going for........maybe the  academy can work harder with the youngsters (especially those that are 18, 19) and blood them up and bring them through quicker ?

papa cisse is off to newcastle for around £10m. another great deal for them. he's an excellent player and averages better than 1 in 2 in france. they seem to be getting excellent value for money.

where the hell is our scouting network?

Sigh.. seriously any players those clubs get seems to be able to gel almost immediately... The players are nimble and mobile.. I feel our problem are fall rooted in the club. It is the people in the club. It can't be most players are not doing better than they did before they came here.. It just doesn't make sense.

Following in the footsteps of Man U and Arsenal, Liverpool are to re-re-sign Robbie "God" Fowler who recently packed his bags for India. Rumours suggest he may be partnered up front with Michael Owen in an effort to sharpen the Reds toothless attack.

Ok, so I made that up. Might be worth a shot though   :D

Liverpool are close to clinching a deal for Portugal Under 19 playmaker Joao Carlos Teixeira.

The Sporting Lisbon youngster starlet grabbed Liverpool’s attention by scoring against them in the NextGen - a Champions League-style tournament for youth teams.

Teixeira, who has just turned 19, is set to sign on at Merseyside for a deal worth up to just £850,000, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.

The playmaker, who has come through the same academy as Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Figo and Paulo Futre, was reportedly targeted at the insistence of Liverpool’s academy technical manager Jose Segura.

Teixeira has shown enough promise to train with Sporting’s first-team this season, but has yet to make his senior debut.
