Apparently Spurs tried to thwart us with a late bid , don't know if there's any truth in it though .

Zarate
“Mauro does not even know who Hitler and Mussolini are,” his spokesman told German agency SID.![]()
To be honest he has a history of doing silly things. I remember a few years ago he watched a match from the stands with the Curva Nord Ultras. They made a ring to protect him, was all a bit wierd tbh but I think he is one of those types that can become a fans favorite so long as he can be arsed.

Very similar to the likes of Cassano and Balotelli in terms of versatility and natural talent. Unfortunately hes also like them in terms of attitude and lack of consistency. If he comes then I expect him to be on the bench for the first few weeks until Kenny is certain that he can handle the pressure and expectations of being at such a great club. Like I said, I think over the last year or so he has matured and is now ready for a step up in his career. As an impact sub, he's surely worth a shot given our lack of options upfront.
