Fock me, 8 mill plus add ons? Why the hell couldn't WE pay that? Sounds like a reasonable price to pay.

With the luck that we have, next time he'll cost 30 mill and the Mancs will get him for 20  I am really disappointed we didn't sign him :(

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Not too sure who our ACTUAL targets are but its worrying if Young, Jones and Wickham were serious targets.  and im sick of hearing by now that Adam and Downing are "Close" to signing.

Just wish we'd start unloading some deadwood and sign a few decent players.  wish i was more patient :D

Not that fussed over Wickham to be honest as we need lads that will come int that first team right away really. No harm buying promise but until that starting 11 looks the part it will always be an uphill battle for everyone. Long term investment plans are one thing but we all live in here and now and want Liverpool to be knocking on the door again next year no matter how difficult that may be.

I would have liked Wickham to sign as well as a more experienced striker.

We need to get rid of some of the deadwood soon, let's hope there's some movement on Friday when the window opens for Europe.

Jovanovich, Degen, Insua, Knocheski, Cole?, Ngog, Poulsen...

Maybe it's just me (?) BUT I'm seriously underwhelmed with our activity (so far) in this transfer window. I know it's early days but every player we are reportedly interested in apparently prefers to go elsewhere.

Many of us are enthusiastic about the new set up at lfc but lets face it, with pre season training fast approaching we're still miles away from significantly improving the team/squad.

If anything with Miereles up for sale and others available for loan it seems to me we may end up with a thinner/weaker squad. I hope the powers that be prove me wrong but if things don't change, given what we've got, forget top 4, we'll be lucky to finish in the top 6.

Your not the only one, I want to stay optimistic but we have lost 3 of our targets right now Young, Jones and Wickham, so its worrying to say the least and we haven't addressed our key areas of the team yet!

Let's hope we turn it around in our transfer activity next week or so

I think we're all starting to feel that way to be honest.  It looked good at the start when we paid a decent sum for a promising youngster and we were linked with Jones, Wickham, Dann, adam etc.  And then Comolli was saying we were far from finished in the market.  But since then a lot of our apparent targets have been snapped up or appear to be close to joining other clubs.

Hopefully work is being done behind closed doors but its all gone very quiet and the squad we have isnt capable of top 4 unless Kenny can perform miracles.

Thats whats really bothering me.

Players aren't forming a line around the block to join us.

Don't know what carrots the new management are offering but apparently it's not enough

Sadly, having I played for LIVERPOOL on your CV no longer seems to be enough.

dissappointing to hear bout wickham, although its not meant to be about maney, its more that hes see himself gettin regular games with sunderland, so thats a plus side. but im fed up with us not signing anyone to shout home about, plus we are struggling to get rid of the deadwood, come on kenny, there is plenty of players that need shipped out, that will also help with funds for quality.

Im kinda annoyed that we seem to be waiting for pre-season (this monday) to ship out the players we dont want, like this should all have been done weeks ago, i only hope next week when the european window officially opens that there are deals already in place to get rid of:
Poulsen, Jova, NGog, Kyrgiakos, Degen, EL Zhar, Aquilani, Cole, Insua and even Maxi!!!

Otherwise training is a joke when u have 4 or 5 players negotiating to leave and training at the same time, they better be shipped before they leave for the asia trip!!

I pray we have a few lined up to sign behind the scenes but sadly it doesnt seem that way so far!!

NESV seem to have marked the wage bill as a major issue and perhaps they are keen to trim that right down before making any big commitments on new players. Problem we have ofcourse is getting these boys out the door. You get the impression they want Liverpool run lean and mean and on sound footing but doing that and meeting expectation could see them hit the skids in a league where money is the most powerful weapon of all.
