Football is in his blood, no way he retires in his 50's when the likes of Alex Ferguson was winning the title at 71 and the likes of Roy Hodgson and Bobby Robson were still having relative success in their early 70's, indeed i was reading somewhere that Roy Hodgson is returning to manage Bristol City at 78.
Most modern managers have been multi millionaires since their playing days, for years and years they've eaten nothing but the best foods, probably don't drink and if they do it will be expensive wines, they've almost certainly never smoked, go to all the best holiday destinations.....these fella's are 70 going on 50.

Saw Jurgen in an interview the other day, he was his usual genial self but he didn't look too well, seemed to have lost a lot of weight and looked a bit hagard.

Read this a month or two ago, now more reputable sources are reporting it too so it may be true. Michael Edwards was brought in with the plan to buy a second club but since that plan has fallen apart for some reason he'll no longer be needed in his current position. A shame since he was a great sporting director back in the day, this time his role was different apparetnly but would love to have him in his old position.

As for Hughes, the man is probably at fault for the mess we're in more than Slot is and it isn't being talked about enough. If he isn't leaving himself we'd have to fire him.

Like yakka said, if Edwards is leaving hopefully this opens the door for a Klopp comeback.

I'm sure Carole and the girls at the canteen would soon sort that out, a few bowls of scouse and he'll be right as rain. He's back in Liverpool for the legends game tomorrow and just seen an interview where he politely declined to answer a loaded question with a smile, he well wants to come back and if we turn down the opportunity to re-sign the best manager on the face of this planet then more fool us.
If the owners aren't careful they could see all the money they invested last summer, near enough half a billion, get flushed down the sh1tter, if they want to salvage their investment they need to get the man who has turned sours ears into silk purses all his managerial career.
Jurgen would dominate in this era with a capital fvcking D. Even opposition fans acknowledge his greatness.

Klopps reception from fans will be electric, even for a "legends" game. It would be ironic if Klopp came back and Pep got his mojo back lol, back to the 90+ seasons again.

With the amount of interviews and showing ups Jurgen has done lately it's quite possible they're hyping up his return. I mean, what other ex manager, from LFC or not, has been given so much attention in a short period of time and during a critical period, while still being employed elsewhere?

However, I also wouldn't be surprised if he's coming back but not as a manager but rather as a sport director, replacing Hughes and Edwards who are very likely to leave.

according to The i Paper, who claim that the £52million-rated Francisco Conceicao is one target who would fall into the latter category. The Juventus star, who is expected to feature prominently for Portugal at the World Cup, is seen as a player capable of replicating the direct style that made Salah such a thorn in the side of Premier League defenders.

Morgan Rogers is another player of interest after another stunning season for Aston Villa. The 23-year-old would command an astronomical transfer fee, though, after signing a new contract earlier this season.

Bayern Munich's Michael Olise falls into a similar category; the former Crystal Palace man is a player Liverpool have taken a keen interest in and the winger has taken his game to another level since swapping the Premier League for the Bundesliga.

He's taken his foot off the pedal, I doubt he has the energy to dedicate the same passion again. Best for everyone we just enjoy the memories.  :buttrock

Mass clear out according to the Telegraph !!

Nine Liverpool players heading for the Anfield exit

Having spent almost half a billion on transfers last year, club may be ready for mass clearout this summer before re-entering the market

Merseyside Football Reporter

Liverpool’s elimination from the Champions League has been confirmed and their long-since abandoned hopes of defending their Premier League title could also be officially ended this weekend. They currently trail Arsenal by 18 points with six matches remaining.

It has been a season of intense disappointment and immense transition, but it is reasonable to expect more personnel changes at Anfield this summer. Telegraph Sport looks at the players destined to leave and those waiting at the departure gate.

Mohamed Salah
The great farewell tour is not turning out as planned. The sight of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia consoling the Egyptian as they walked to the centre circle after Paris St-Germain had scored their second goal at Anfield was a reminder of his status within the game. He has underperformed this season but his departure will leave a chasm.

Andrew Robertson
Andy Robertson, one of the club’s greatest ever full-backs, has, according to many observers, spent too many minutes on the bench this seasonCredit: Peter Byrne/PA
If Tottenham remain in the Premier League, the Scotland captain would favour a move to them. He has been unnecessarily under-used this season and letting a player who could have such a positive influence in the dressing room depart is a risk. Robertson is a great character, the kind who sets standards. He will not be easily replaced.

Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones was linked with a move to San Siro during the January transfer windowCredit: Marc Atkins/Getty Images
There are suitors for Jones. Why would there not be? He is an England international, vastly experienced, well-decorated with honours and at an excellent age (25) with 12 months remaining on his contract. If he is not getting the game time – and starts – he craves, someone (perhaps Inter Milan) will make an offer that he cannot refuse.

Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott, a popular figure among the Liverpool fanbase, has struggled to get game time during his loan spell at Aston VillaCredit: Mattia Ozbot/Getty Images
It has been a disappointing year for this young man. Aston Villa was supposed to be a move that enabled him to get minutes under his belt but it has turned into a calamity. It does not seem like his parent club are in a rush to get him back to Anfield and they will look to cash in during the summer window. He deserves to play regularly.

Federico Chiesa
Federico Chiesa started the season with a bang, but other than his dramatic goal-line clearance in the draw with Sunderland has largely been an anonymous figure around Anfield  Credit: Paul Ellis/Getty Images
It was not so long ago that you could not turn up at Anfield without hearing his name being sung. His cult-hero status was confirmed when he scored an important goal against Bournemouth on the opening weekend last August, but he has struggled to get a look-in of late and it is hard to see a situation where he gets another 12 months on Merseyside.

Calvin Ramsey
Much fanfare surrounded Calvin Ramsay on his arrival from ScotlandCredit: Nick Taylor/Getty Images
For his own good, Ramsay needs a fresh start. He has had two starts this season but it is evident that Arne Slot does not see him as an option and said so bluntly in January. He arrived with promise from Aberdeen in 2022, for £4.2m, but his contract expires this summer and will not be renewed.

Rhys Williams
Rhys Williams made his Liverpool debut under Jürgen Klopp, but has since been loaned out to Swansea City, Blackpool, Aberdeen, Port Vale and MorecambeCredit: Times Newspapers Ltd/NMC Pool/Bradley Ormesher
Amazing to think he played a role in the 2020-21 season and stepped into a breach alongside Nat Phillips, shoring up an injury-decimated defence and helping Liverpool qualify for the Champions League. His career never went in the direction it should have done, though, and he is out of contract in June.

Joe Gomez
Joe Gomez has proven to be a versatile defensive option for Klopp and Arne Slot over the yearsCredit: Robbie Jay Barratt/Getty Images
Appeared to be on the brink of leaving last summer and how different things might have been had Liverpool not botched their bid to sign Marc Guéhi. Gomez had the chance to join Crystal Palace, Brighton and AC Milan. All clubs remain interested in him. Has been an excellent servant but now might be the right time to seek a new challenge.

Alexis Mac Allister

Alexis Mac Allister has not had his greatest season in a Liverpool jersey, although remains popular with fansCredit: Christophe Petit-Tesson/EPA
A surprise name, perhaps, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he could be used to finance the next phase of the rebuild. The Argentine has two years left on his contract, there have not been renewal talks yet and his form has dipped this season. Clubs in Europe are interested in him.

I think Alison will go as well and tbh Endo should be moved on as well. That list doesnt include Konate either. Loads of work to be done over the summer.

I read the Alisson rumours too, what the hell are we thinking? I know he's injury prone and getting older but he's still among the best in the world, Mamardashvili is no where near him. Who is even in charge of this sort of decision making? Aren't Hughes and Edwards also about to leave?
