Where would he play when Gerrard + Meiriles are available?  Can he cover DM?

it's only a matter of time before he arrives. it's just a case of negotiating a price.

Blackpool's Charlie Adam submits transfer request
By John Sinnott

Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam has submitted a request to leave the club, BBC Sport has learned.

The 25-year-old has been a key part of the club's success in their debut season in the Premier League.

Manager Ian Holloway said at the weekend the Seasiders had rejected offers from three clubs for the player - including a £4m bid from Liverpool.

Holloway has described the bids the club has received for Adam as derisory and is keen to keep his skipper.

Holloway said Birmingham and Aston Villa have also expressed their interest in the player, who has 18 months to run on his current deal.

More to follow.

Blackpool have rejected Adams's transfer request!

We could end up getting nobody the way teams are behaving this window.

Adam is the reason blackpool may stay up, can see why they dont want him to go, as for Suarez, again, 49 goals in 48 games, even in non league thats amazing, hes worth more than Dzeko in my eyes, its just we wont pay for him.

Eurosport: Thanks to Jammy for the tip-off, reports in Holland claim Liverpool's delegation has left Amsterdam empty-handed after negotiating for Luis Suarez. Ajax demanded €35m and there was no prospect of an agreement.

it's freakin ridiculous... didn't they value him as 30 million euros in the beginning?

I hope he doesn't sign a contract extension and we can get him during the summer for much cheaper...

If this falls through it won't be lack of effort or unwilling to pay up a couple of millions more from LFC for this transfer... Comolli did the right thing to walk away...

i look at his ability more than his goalscoring record in holland to be honest. afonso alves scored more than a goal a game in holland, came over to boro and look what happened to him. dirk's goalscoring record in holland was phenomenal aswell as he's ended up as a modified winger.

suarez would still be a class addition though.

bullsh1t, I seem to recall that Babel and Kuyt were fairly prolific in the Dutch league as well, doesn't mean sh1t does it?, but I do think Suarez could be very good for us he has that extra something that only great strikers have.

Im going on how ive seen him play in the world cup aswell, hes a very good player, nothing like Babel or Kuyt, his technical ability is well beyond both of them combined, as said, I think hes worth that amount, only my view though.

Suarez could be another Ruud Van Nisterlooy or could be another Alves....
