Dalglish targets 4 signings

Liverpool are targeting up to 4 signings before the transfer window closes but don't expect to finalise any deals prior to their game against Fulham on Wednesday.

The number one priority remains Ajax forward Luis Suarez who is open to a move having been convinced of the club's ambitions during informal talks through his agent. Despite press reports claiming a deal is close no formal offer has been made. Damien Comolli, the club's Director of Football,  made the first approach to Ajax on Friday, expressing Liverpool's interest in signing the Uruguayan. Comolli was told that Ajax will not sell for less than €30 Million and although Liverpool are not willing to match Ajax's valuation they will lodge their first formal bid on Monday, believed to be  €15 Million plus Ryan Babel.

It is understood that Liverpool have identified two backup options to Suarez, one from the Bundesliga and the other from Eredivisie. Both would be significantly cheaper options and the club are confident a deal could be reached on short notice for either. Kenny Dalglish sees Suarez playing on the left of a 3 pronged attack in his preferred 4-3-3 formation, while the two alternative targets are traditional centre forwards. Missing out on Suarez would mean that Liverpool would have the funds available to make an early approach for Ashley Young, who the club had identified as a top summer target.

Comolli will also approach Blackpool early in the week with the hope of coming to an agreement over Charlie Adam. In order to entice the Seasiders, Liverpool will increase their £4 Million bid, offer a like for like replacement on loan for the remainder of the season, and agree to a 20% sell on fee.

Kenny Dalglish is also keen to bring in a left back before the window closes and together with Comolli has identified an unnamed target from La Liga, but much will depend on their ability to find a club for Paul Konchesky. Liverpool are being hindered by the fact Konchesky has already represented two clubs this season but the club are exploring loopholes in the Fifa rule which prohibits players from playing for more than two clubs in one season.

With the club having no games in the final week before the window closes, Liverpool expect to be able to move quickly and secure the majority of their targets before the end of the weekend.

Well that could be good news I suppose.  It sounds like we are strongly going after Ashley Young and Charlie Adam, though Suarez, who I wanted the most doesn't seem so certain anymore.  Back up in Bundesliga I can only assume is Mario Gomez, but for a much cheaper price I have no idea.  Dutch league backup I would assume is Bryan Ruiz.  Been linked to him before and he's a young decent Costa Rican striker for PSV.  No idea who the left back from La Liga is tho.  I figured we were going to sign Warnock on loan, tho maybe they don't want to lose two players to us.

I'd be thrilled if we got Suarez, Young, Adam and Warnock.  Couldn't really be happier I imagine.  Then in the summer we may be able to work on at least one CB and a RM.

Still no deal between Ajax and #LFC on Suarez. Comolli met with Ajax chief Rick van den Boog at Schiphol airport today. But no fee agreed

Ajax want 35 million euros for Suarez but LFC's offer is much lower so Comolli is heading back empty handed, according to Parool

------

looks like we won't be signing him then

I hope Saurez gets hold of the football next game he plays for Ajax and runs 30 yards backwards and fires one into his own net. Darts over towards the managers dugout, drops his shorts and takes a dump in front of them.

feking  Ajax. fancy naming the club after a bog cleaner. :D

Ajax are screwing this up!  They keep upping their valuation of the player which is ridiculous.  I hope he does a Masch and refuses to play for them again :D

I can only assume N'Zogbia is the 2nd option.
