Liverpool are pushing to sign Real Madrid sensation Isco in January after making him a 'priority' signing for the new year.

Isco was a target for the Reds before his switch to Madrid in 2013, with Brendan Rodgers known to be a long-term admirer.

And now reports in Spain say Liverpool are plotting a move for the 22-year-old when the transfer window re-opens, having made him a key target.

Manchester City also want Isco, and while Madrid don't want to sell, it's claimed they could be tempted with an offer in the region of £31.2million.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been told that they will need to pay Alan Dzagoev's £16m release clause if they want to bring the midfielder to England.

The 24-year-old has just signed a new deal at CSKA Moscow that will see him earn £30,000-a-week until 2019.

But the Russian club have not ruled out a sale if their asking price is met, given their current financial problems.

A source told Izvestia: "Dzagoev is an important player for CSKA but lately the team is experiencing some financial problems.

"In this regard, you can't rule out the option of selling the player to one of the leading clubs.

"When they were talking about offering Dzagoev a new contract, they talked about the possibility of selling the midfielder to a club in one of the leading European championships but the parties failed to reach a compromise."

The club are ready to release the player but only if a potential buyer pays €20m (£16m).

"This clause does not apply to teams in the Russian Premier League."

The player himself has never disguised his desire to leave Russia and test himself abroad.

He said: "I would like to test my capabilities at one of the leading clubs in the 'big five' leagues.

"There are clauses in the new contract that give me a better chance of making the move to Europe."

It now remains to be seen whether Liverpool step up their interest in Dzagoev in January as they seek to revive their flagging fortunes in the Premier League or whether the Gunners can beat them to the punch.

Fabian Delph has told Aston Villa he has no plans to sign a new contract and is set to leave the club in the summer, in another shattering blow for the manager, Paul Lambert.

Delph appears poised for the Villa exit on a free transfer at the end of the season, in a move which is likely to spark interest from Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton, plus Tottenham Hotspur.

The England international has been offered an incentivised four-year deal worth around £50,000 a week by chairman Randy Lerner, as the club attempt to keep him in the West Midlands beyond this current campaign.

But Delph has given the clearest indication yet that he is keen to pursue a new challenge next season by informing Lambert, the manager, that he wants to keep his options open.

The 24-year-old midfielder's current deal expires in June and Villa believe they are facing a losing battle to persuade Delph to sign another long-term contract.

Telegraph Sport understands Delph is prepared to see out the season with Lambert's team, and he will be one of the most sought-after free agents of the summer after recently breaking into Roy Hodgson's squad.

He made his senior international debut in the friendly against Norway in September and then produced a disciplined display in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland, playing the whole 90 minutes despite an early booking.

Signed for around £6 million from Leeds in 2009, Delph suffered two serious knee injuries early in his spell at Villa, but has since emerged as one of the club's key players.

During the pre-season tour of America he told Villa supporters he owed the club for their unwavering loyalty during his injuries. However, three successive relegation battles - with a possible fourth this season - and his elevation to the England squad have convinced him that he will have to take the difficult decision of leaving Villa Park to advance his career.

Delph is unlikely to play for Villa until late December in any case as he is sidelined with a dislocated shoulder.

Manchester City are considering selling star midfielder Yaya Toure.Toure was sent off during City's calamitous 2-1 defeat to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, leaving their chances of qualification for the Champions League knockout rounds in tatters.

The Ivory Coast powerhouse was one of two players given their marching orders at the Etihad, Toure for a petulant slap 10 minutes after Fernandinho's second yellow card.

The display caps a poor start to the season for the 31-year-old, who agitated for a move to Paris Saint-Germain last summer before performing a U-turn and committing himself to City.

However, according to reports, City are now preparing to offload Toure.

The Times claim Etihad officials are ready to cut their losses with the former Barcelona man next summer when his £210,000-a-week contract will enter its final two years.

Barca and PSG are likely to be informed about Toure's availability, while there could be interest from the Premier League.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all previously been linked with the man who cost City £24million in 2010 and could join the race for his services.

Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations mean City cannot splash the cash like they did once and now have to balance the books with sales.

Brendan Rodgers is considering a £15million move for the striker who humbled Manchester City in the Champions League, the Sunday People can reveal.

Seydou Doumbia struck twice in midweek as CSKA Moscow won 2-1 at the Etihad to leave Manuel Pellegrini's side with an uphill battle to reach the last 16.

And he did so in front of Liverpool spies, who were watching the Ivorian for the fifth time.

Italian side Napoli are also keen on the 26-year-old, who is contracted to CSKA until 2018 and has a buy-out clause of around £30m.

Despite the size of that clause, the Moscow outfit will listen to offers of £15m-plus.

Abidjan-born Doumbia, who joined CSKA from Swiss side Young Boys in 2010, has won 21 caps for the Ivory Coast.

Liverpool are also confident they will finally snap up Dele Alli in January - but they will then loan him straight back to MK Dons.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been pursued for a year by the Mersey men, who will make an initial payment of £4.5million to nab him.

Liverpool are hopeful of beating Arsenal to Porto goal machine Jackson Martinez by lodging a £30million offer for his services.

The Reds have been linked with a host of quality forwards in recent weeks with Brendan Rodgers in desperate need of a new source of goals.

And now Liverpool have turned to long-term Arsenal target Martinez, with reports saying a £30million bid is set to go in shortly.

Martinez, a Colombian international, has scored 72 goals in 106 matches for Porto but has been looking for a new challenge recently.

Liverpool have targeted Asmir Begovic in the January transfer window.

The Merseyside club went after the Stoke stopper in the summer of 2013 but were frightened off by a £15million asking price.

Begovic, 27, now has only 20 months left on his Stoke contract and might be prised away for around £10m.

Now this would make me very happy if we pulled it off...

Liverpool have reportedly dealt a blow to Arsenal's hopes of bolstering their defensive ranks in January by entering the race for William Carvalho.

The Portuguese midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates over the summer, but Brendan Rodgers is looking to pounce on the Gunners' inability to secure a deal for the 22-year-old, according to the Daily Star.

The Sporting Lisbon youngster has admitted his interest in a move to England, and is likely to be the subject of a Premier League tug-of-war come January.

'We all have ambitions and I hope one day to play in the best leagues in the world, the English or Spanish,' he said.

'It was not this year, but if I continue to do my job as I have done so, it will certainly come sooner or later.'

LIVERPOOL have entered the £37m race to sign Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.

The defensive midfielder was constantly linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United during the summer, but a bid failed to materialise.

The Premier League trio are expected to renew their interest in January, but will now have Liverpool to contend with too.

The Portugal international, who has a £37m release clause in his contract, recently revealed his desire to one day make a move to England's top flight.

"We all have ambitions and I hope one day to play in the best leagues in the world, the English or Spanish," Carvalho said.

"If I continue to do my job as I have done so, it will certainly come sooner or later."

FORMER Newcastle star Yohan Cabaye could be heading back to the Premier League in January.

Cabaye is struggling to hold down a regular place at Paris Saint-Germain following his £18million move in January of this year.

However, the France international may be on his way back to England after less than 12 months.

Cabaye could be made available by PSG in January as they bid to raise funds, having seen their spending curtailed this summer due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

And that could lead to interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal saw two bids for Cabaye rejected in the summer of 2013, while Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked with the 28-year-old.

All three could launch moves for the midfielder should he be put up for sale by PSG.

Juventus are preparing a January move for Liverpool and Tottenham target Ricardo Rodriguez, according to reports in Italy.

The Wolfsburg full-back has established himself as one of the most promising defenders in the Bundesliga, after being voted Swiss Footballer of the Year last season.

Rodriguez also earned plaudits for his performances at the World Cup in Brazil, where he claimed two assists as Switzerland reached the last-16 of the tournament.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly interested in the 22-year-old as they look to strengthen their options in defence.

However, according to TMW, Juventus are now ready to beat the Premier League duo to the signing of Rodriguez by making a move for him during the January transfer window.

The Serie A champions are said to see the Switzerland international as an ideal replacement for Stephan Lichtsteiner, who is linked with a move to Arsenal.

Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is again being linked with a move away from the club as Liverpool line up a £10million bid.

Begovic's name is never far away from the columns of transfer speculation, but despite all the rumours, the Bosnian remains an integral part of Mark Hughes' first team.

The keeper again showed he is one of the best in the business when pulling off some great saves during Sunday's 2-1 win at Tottenham, and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to take him to Anfield.

The Reds chief is reported to be lining up a £10million offer when the transfer window opens in January, but such a figure falls well short of Stoke's valuation.

Hughes is under no pressure to sell and it will take offers in excess of £15million before they will even be considered. Begovic himself has always maintained he is happy at Stoke and will not push for a move.
