Man U have been linked with Costa but for like £20m and Fergie came out today and said no more signings, granted he's said it before but I doubt he'd sign someone a few hours afer saying that
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

good little player... if Alonso and Mascherno decide to leave then i think Cambiasso and Aquilani would be good replacements and would probably leave us with some extra xash to spend on strengthening elsewhere...

Excellent player, I have always admired his talent.  The only problem is, he gets injured a lot.

Liverpool And Everton To Battle For Atletico Madrid's Jose Antonio Reyes - Report

The Merseyside duo are trying to tempt Reyes back to England...

14 Jul 2009 01:41:32

Jose Antonio Reyes might have to choose which Merseyside club to join, as Everton and Liverpool battle for his services.

Reyes is searching for a club after Benfica offered just €4 million to make his loan deal permanent, while Atletico Madrid are keen to generate a higher sum for his sale.

Now, FourFourTwo reports that Everton and Liverpool are considering bringing Reyes back to England. The Spaniard previously spent three seasons at Arsenal and failed to settle, despite showing occasional flashes of brilliance.

In addition to Atleti and Benfica, Reyes also spent a season at Real Madrid, but he has never quite found the form that made him such a sought-after player at Sevilla.

However, the Merseyside duo would face a challenge in convincing Reyes to return to England, as by all accounts he failed to adapt to the country during his first stint.

Liverpool's Dean Bouzanis To Join Wrexham On Loan

The rising star will enjoy the exposure of first-team football whilst training at Anfield...

14 Jul 2009 02:28:07

Australian goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis is set to move away from Liverpool to Blue Square Premier outfit Wrexham on loan, the non-league club have confirmed.

Bouzanis’ loan move was touted last week by Goal.com and it now appears a formality, with Wrexham manager Dean Saunders confirming that both clubs had agreed to the move.

"Both clubs have agreed the deal," Saunders told www.wrexhamafc.co.uk. "But it's all a bit of a rush for this afternoon, so we are hoping to see the player at some stage next week."

The manager also confirmed that the deal would be structured so as to allow the Liverpool ‘keeper to train with the English Premier League club “several times a week” whilst also being given the exposure of competitive first-team football.

Former Australia goalkeeper Jim Fraser recently described the 18-year-old as one of the nation’s most exciting prospects, claiming that the youngster is rated very highly at Anfield.

Outside of club football, Bouzanis will also be looking to force his way into Jan Versleijen's Young Socceroos squad that will compete at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in Egypt this year.

Good news, lets hope he can make progress at Wrexham.

Agent Claims Hungarian Quintet To Have Trial With Liverpool

Reds monitor progress of handful of Hungarians...

14 Jul 2009 07:52:19

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly offered a quintet of potential Hungarian starlets for a trial at Anfield.

The clutch of players are goalkeeper Attila Abu, midfielders Krisztian Adorjan and Patrik Vass, striker Peter Horvath and defender Patrik Poor, who are all currently playing in the youth academy at MTK Budapest.

Their agent, Tibor Pataky, claims The Reds have shown plenty of interest in his clients and it will be the second visit to England for midfielders Adorjan and Vass.

"All of the players have been observed at least three times by a Liverpool scout, what's more at the end of May the new director of the Liverpool Academy, Frank McParland, went to Hungary to check the players' abilities," the agent told Pepsifoci.

"He invited five players to Liverpool. Krisztian Adorjan and Patrik Vass go to Liverpool for the second time, a year-and-a-half ago they trained with the youth team of Liverpool and played a game in England."

Liverpool already have quite a wealth of Hungarian talent at the club, including striker Kirsztian Nemeth, goalkeeper Peter Gulasci and midfielder Zsolt Poloski.

This kid is quality and Rafa should sign him up, it would be even sweeter to beat Everton to him!
