Hopefully we can sign him then for a reasonable price and hopefully he's still the player we want.

I think Adam may have missed the boat with us now. Not sure he was a key piece for us reallyand we just thought he could move the ball about and give us a cheap option in the short term. Had he been any more than that they would have paid the money like they did with Carroll but soon as the deal got a bit pricey they walked away. I expect us to bid for better in the summer when the gates are fully open.

I have to agree i think come the summer with more time we might go after a bigger and younger player then Adam, although id be more then happy with him the lads a top talent. Why is Harry redknapp obsessed with us is he trying his best to stop or revoloution because he he sees us as his closet rivals for 4th spot next season? or did a scouser do his wife?

The same point is made in this (surprisingly good) Soccernet article:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns....cc=4716

In the end, we have bigger needs than Charlie Adam. Still, I wouldn't complain if he did end up coming here (unless of course we still had the same gaps in our squad at the end of the summer!)

I live in the area and heard Adam is going to Spurs but the way hes going they are probably be losing interest. Feel sorry for him in a way as Oyston blocked his big chance in an attempt to stay up but they could now easily end up going down. Not saying he wont move on, he will, but the lad will be lucky to have the same clubs around in the summer as where there with cash in January.I for one hope we dont back in because I dont think hes good enough to make a massive improvement to our side so not worth it.

Disagree to be honest.  I think he can move the ball about as good as anybody in the league when passing at a distance.

Also, he has already publicly said he doesn't want to go to spurs because there are so many midfielders he would have to fight for a spot with.

wasn't his transfer request in response to our interest. Even Boothroyd said it was so he could play for us...
